TITLE: Electrical Engineer FLSA: Exempt UPDATED: 10/15/2024 DIVISION: ALL REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager GRADE: Summary: Provide Electrical Engineering support for department projects. Essential Functions: Create electrical cabinet designs for machine orders, based on KM standards and customer requirements where required. Provide support to customers and service technicians as it relates to electrical issues. Provide guidance on new designs and control and drive componentry Lead new equipment design and/or improvements to current product. Apply general oversight of electrical design and assembly personnel. Plan and implement electrical project assignments together with department management. Assist in estimating manpower requirements, plan and monitor work schedules to meet timely completion. Recommend changes in methods and design or equipment when necessary. Responsible for the electrical integration of automation and vision systems, robots, etc. into KM standard equipment. Assist production floor with electrical drawing updates, BOM changes, troubleshooting, etc. as needed. Participate in the testing and troubleshooting of electrical cabinets as needed. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment in our Florence facility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines which create low-moderate noise. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Light to moderate lifting is required. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness required. Expected Hours of Work This is a salaried, exempt level, full-time position with standard working days/hours of Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm with overtime as necessary to complete required tasks. Actual working hours may vary. Travel Travel is moderate, and some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. Travel to Germany or other international locations possible for training/conferences. Anticipated travel is 10%. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field and 2 to 3 years' related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Solid knowledge of electrical codes and related regulations. Design competence of electrical circuits by use of AutoCAD systems. Preferred Education and Experience Knowledge of Allen Bradley PowerFlex Drive systems and AC motors as well as general programming skills a plus. Knowledge of Yaskawa Drive systems a plus. Familiar with UL, CSA, NFPA and OSHA requirements. Previous experience in capital equipment design and manufacturing.
