Executes catastrophe risk management tasks and projects in conjunction with related teams in the organization. Will lead and design projects and solutions with other parts of the organization to solve catastrophe risk business problems. With team, propose solutions to business questions and monitor progress of projects. Position Compensation Range: $107,000.00 - $181,000.00 Pay Rate Type: Salary Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates. Primary Accountabilities Performs catastrophe modeling analyses using catastrophe modeling software for the assessment of data input, model set-up, model execution, result extraction and loss analytics. Communicates key model fundamentals including but not limited to Hazard, Vulnerability and Financial model components to peers and other functions. Develops analytical tools, reports, and data to understand the impacts of natural disasters to the enterprise's business, including applying a variety of geospatial analysis techniques to analysis projects. Explore natural hazard data to incorporate into the catastrophe exposure dashboard and into product, pricing and underwriting. Assists preparing rate filing and DOI object response. Develops automation process for monitoring catastrophe peril events in the United States daily and identifying the potential impact on the Enterprise business. Evaluates catastrophe management software and models and exploring industry best practices and business strategies in earth science technologies. partners, and to assist fellow catastrophe risk management team members to provide the catastrophe related insights and recommendation. Participates in the selection of research tools and technologies, design of a common research process, and brainstorming new opportunities and methodologies related to earth science. Researches and maintains awareness of industry best practices and business strategies. Proactively brings in new and innovative ideas and approaches to develop business. May be requested to complete other assignments or participate in projects based upon skills, achievements, or experience. Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Education Requirements Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service. Solid experience with Catastrophe management software and catastrophe peril models. Proficient knowledge and understanding of natural catastrophe risk and it's application to the insurance space and catastrophe modeling. Proficiency in programming languages suitable for database access, scripting, and statistical analysis. Solid understanding of geospatial software tools and data. Ability to work as part of a team and to communicate effectively. Demonstrated experience using large amounts of structured, semi structured, and unstructured data. Demonstrated experience making independent decisions and in project management methodologies, practices, techniques. Solid knowledge with managing data to scale using data summarization, query and analysis software and tools. Travel Requirements Up to 10% Licenses Not applicable.
