This Cardiac Surgery Research Nurse will be responsible for: Coordinating clinical research studies which are focused on patients with congenital heart disease (the development of novel new agents and treatments, drug studies, natural history of disease progression, and other ongoing research areas in the study of vascular anomalies and the associated conditions.) Clinical responsibilities include patient care coordination, evaluation, nursing assessment and facilitating care for clinical research patients Communicating with IRB (Institutional review board), research study teams, patients, families, and health care providers. Create Prescriptions and Orders for all studies Track and coordinate laboratory values Potentially coordinating with Pharmacies Coordinate with (Clinical Trials Unit) CVOR and Heart Center Unit Teams if prospective Studies Communication with sponsors, regulatory authorities, vendors, and other clinical research organizations Working 40 hours a week Monday - Friday (no weekends no holidays) mostly on site, with some remote possibilities in the future. To qualify, you must have: BSN degree and current MA RN License At least 1 year RN experience or 1 year of clinical research experience required, 3 years preferred (Prior BCH, research, pediatric RN and congenital heart disease/defect experience strongly preferred) Previous CITI training preferred, if not willingness to obtain EPIC experience strongly preferred Computer skills adequate for grant preparation and database input.
