Finatal is partnered with a well-known middle-market Private Equity Firm in search of an FP&A Manager for one of their new portfolio company acquisitions. The company is a $200mil manufacturer and distributor of outdoor home products including fireplaces, stoves, grills, and heaters. This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly acquired portfolio company of a reputable private equity firm that has aggressive growth plans. The Manager Financial Planning and Analysis will report directly to the CFO and manage many aspects of accounting/finance operating functions, cash forecasting, cash applications/banking, monthly financial reporting, annual financial planning, financial forecasting, commission payments and monthly close processes. Key responsibilities: Financial Analysis and Reporting Provide timely financial reporting and improve segment-based financial analysis with expanded budget, actual, prior period variance analysis and insight. Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement reports (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) Develop and maintain complex financial models to support business planning, forecasting and 13-week cash flow projection processes. Analyze BI tool data and KPI metrics to identify trends and impact business decisions Financial and Cash Forecasting Manage daily/weekly cash forecast model and reporting. Manage bank account balances and daily cash forecast input/output, communicate daily cash position to CFO and Private Equity owners. Ownership and heavy hands-on interaction with AP/AR teams to ensure timely consolidation of future payment and collection information. Lead monthly rolling forecast update and reporting process. Assist in preparation of the Multi Year Annual Operating Plan and Annual Budget Collaborate with department heads to gather information for development of budget. Automation/Integration/Systems Experience in making process changes to improve efficiencies/timing of manual entries using data and systems enhancements. Assist with AR accounting and finance related process improvement projects. Assist in further automation of cash application/accounting processes and train employees on expanded data management and efficient Great Plaines usage. Assist with transition to upgraded ERP system. Accounting/Controls/Close/Reporting Strong analytic, financial and accounting skills, knowledge of GAAP. Month end closing process experience, bank reconciliations, GAAP accrual entries, intercompany transactions, foreign currency transactions. Manage monthly Commission payment processes and vendor financing programs. Strong cross functional interaction with team of 6-10 across accounting operating, billing, procurement and warehouse functions. Support for debt compliance and monthly/quarterly bank reporting. Support/Manage other key projects, initiatives and requests by executive management. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance. CPA and MBA strongly preferred. Experience in a generally accepted accounting principles environment (GAAP). Prior experience working with Great Plaines ERP system. Experience working in a manufacturing and distribution environment preferred. Experience working with foreign entities and foreign currency transactions preferred. The ideal candidates will also possess: Proven team skills, influencing non direct reports. Effective communication skills, both written and oral. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, with strong knowledge of Excel. Strong Analytical skills, self-motivated, able to work alone or within a team in a fast pace environment. A positive attitude toward individual, team and company goals working effectively in a no ego environment.
