You can learn more at The Role: The Engineering VP, Field CTO is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients and the Presidio sales organization, ensuring alignment with sales objectives and the broader strategic vision. This role involves a deep understanding of the technical landscape, with a focus on data solutions, AI, cloud integration, and other emerging technologies. The Field CTO will be instrumental in developing go-to-market strategies, supporting sales planning activities, and driving engagement with both clients and strategic vendor partners to enhance Presidio's market position. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with key client decision makers such as CTOs, CIOs, CDOs, CISOs, CSOs, enterprise architects, IT leads, and senior management in procurement, operations, and engineering. Engage with application development teams to ensure alignment with client needs. Sales Support and Collaboration: Develop strong relationships with the Presidio sales team, including Sales Leadership, Field Sales AM, Client Directors, Sales VPs, and local presales teams. Participate in sales planning activities such as Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and account reviews. Proactively reach out to existing clients and prospects, both independently and alongside the sales team. Identify and qualify sales opportunities, gathering initial technical requirements, assessing competitive threats, and understanding decision-making criteria. Technical Presentation and Branding: Present the technical design and business value of the Presidio Solutions Portfolio to clients. Assist in developing branding and messaging standards for the Presidio solutions portfolio, with a primary focus on Data Solutions and AI, while supporting other areas like Cloud, Managed Services, and Cybersecurity. Vendor and Partner Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with vendor partners, understanding partner programs, funding options, pricing, and specialized programs (e.g., VMware Ignite, Microsoft Lighthouse). Industry Knowledge and Training: Stay updated on technology, industry, and market trends, communicating insights to internal and external stakeholders. Research competitive solutions to address client objections effectively. Enable and train internal presales and field sales teams on industry trends and market disruptions to support their go-to-market strategies. Strategic Account Growth: 'Land and Expand' approach for new and existing accounts, focusing on generating pipeline opportunities across the Presidio Solution Portfolio. This includes: Data Governance & Usage: Focused on ML/AI techniques, data management, and analytics/visualization. App Modernization: Includes cloud-native app development, DevSecOps, and CI/CD. Cloud Integration (Hybrid/Edge): Cloud Adoption Frameworks and migration planning. Datacenter Modernization: Focus on infrastructure as code, HCI, and observability. Modern Digital Workspace: Solutions such as SaaS, EUC, and collaboration tools. Workload Management: APM, ITSM, and service management. Identity Access and Governance: Federation, access brokering, and consolidation. Consumption Management: AWS, Azure, Office365, GCP. Position Requirements Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Consulting & Presales Experience : Proven experience in consulting and presales, with a focus on building client relationships and supporting sales objectives. Leadership and Communication : Strong executive presence with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Capable of presenting to senior audiences and leading meetings. Industry Knowledge : In-depth understanding of business processes, digital disruption, and technology trends. Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Technical Familiarity : AWS : Knowledge of services like RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, and others, as well as identity/security tools like IAM and cost management. VMware : Familiarity with solutions like Tanzu, vRealize, NSX, and end-user tools such as Horizon and Airwatch. Microsoft : Understanding of Azure data services, Office365, and Azure AD for identity management. Data Management Platforms : Experience with Snowflake, Alteryx, Datastage, and Databricks. Other Technologies : Exposure to Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, App Dynamics, Puppet, Chef, and other open-source solutions. Strategic Thinking and Planning : Ability to develop strategies for business development, partner engagement, and solution messaging. Mentorship and Teamwork : Role model and mentor with a focus on collaboration, team-building, and supporting sales success. Educational Background : Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; military experience is also valued. Experience : 6-10+ years in data, software, cloud, or app development solutions, with a strong background in driving strategic initiatives.
