As the Human Resources & Benefits Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the HR department in all aspects of human resources, but with a specific focus on onboarding and benefits administration. You will be responsible for coordinating and administering employee benefits programs and services, maintaining employee records, and assisting with other HR duties as needed. You will ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, recommend cost-saving measures, and collaborate with various teams to improve HR processes and practices. Duties & Responsibilities: Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans Assist in coordinating annual benefits enrollment process, including communication with employees and benefit providers, data entry, and reporting Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns regarding health benefits Assist in managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts with benefit providers Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate benefit deductions and remittances Manage the onboarding and offboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth and positive experience from start to finish Oversee all data entry of new hires into various systems and platforms, monitor and update accordingly for necessary changes Conduct pre-employment screening, including background checks, drug tests, and reference checks Coordinate new hire paperwork and ensure all necessary forms are completed and submitted accurately and on time Schedule and facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding sessions Maintain employee records, including enrollment forms and benefits-related documentation both electronically and in office Assist with the administration of other HR programs and policies, such as performance management, employee relations, employment verifications, unemployment claims, disability leaves and sponsorships for employment Maintain confidentiality of employee information and other sensitive HR matters Support other HR functions as necessary, including recruiting and employee training and development Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries from staff, clients, and other various sources Knowledge & Skills: Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field; additional education in Human Resource Management is a plus 5+ years of experience in HR and benefits administration Experience with company retirement and benefit plans Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to employee benefits, and human resources processes and best practices Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) Experience with HRIS and benefits administration software preferred; UKG experience is a plus Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Why DLA: Unlimited PTO and your Birthday is a holiday 401(k) retirement plan with a company match Commuting expenses reimbursed Continuing education courses and training Employee referral and commissions programs Robust healthcare plans Our clients come from all walks of life and so do we.
