Overview: The Portfolio Manager partners with the Banker to support the growth and development of the loan portfolio. Provide ongoing asset management of a loan portfolio and conducts regularly scheduled reviews of overall asset quality, with a focus on evaluating performance against original underwriting expectations. Evaluate information including borrowers/sponsor financial statements, pro forma statements, planned capex, project status reports, stress testing, and overall analysis of the credit condition of the borrower/sponsor. Responsibilities: Establish and maintain favorable relationships with current and prospective clients. Identify and capture opportunities to cross-sell additional loan and other bank products to clients; including partnering with and referring business to internal business partners and related experts when appropriate to drive Bank profitability and efficiency. Provide support, as requested, to Underwriting, Credit and the Senior Credit Risk Officer (SCRO) in managing loans and pipeline, including but not limited to relaying relevant information. Assist in the sales process, including accompanying the lenders on client and prospect calls as well as other sales/client-oriented projects, to include inputting sales calls and developing call plans alongside the banker in CRM and/or loan workflow system to track. Assist the Banker with the initial screening of deals as they are received. Prepare Level of Interest memos ( LOIs ) and term sheets as requested, review commitment letters, review and approve annual loan reviews and assist in ensuring consistency with execution of terms and conditions provided to the client. Analyze clients' needs; assess the client's financial position and credit worthiness to ensure loans meet credit and financial requirements for lending quality and compliance as determined by the Bank's Credit Policy. Make critical decisions regarding credit risk supported by substantial analysis and critical data-based decision making. Assist with the following: negotiate terms, structure loan financing costs, repayment methods, collateral requirements and rates based on risk considerations as well as present credits for approval to LOI Committee, SCRO's and Bankers. Partner with the borrower to provide a preliminary assessment of the necessity of an extension or modification and communicate with the SCRO. Analyze credits and make recommendations as to whether an extension/modification is deemed appropriate, as well as negotiate the terms and conditions of the proposed extension or modification terms. Report on the overall portfolio, including but not limited to, ongoing financial reviews, assessing asset quality, stress testing, industry and market analysis, competitive analysis, asset allocation, reserves, and non-performing loan analysis. Review financial information to assess financial performance and validate covenant compliance in a timely manner after receipt of the documents. Participate in business and community organizations and regularly attend networking events. Interact with internal and external clients while providing extraordinary service. Develop and maintain trusted, positive relationships with other employees, clients, and vendors. Represent the Bank in a highly professional manner. Complete job assignments in a professional, timely and efficient manner; organize and prioritize work. Maintain confidentiality; adhere to CrossFirst Bank policies and procedures; comply with laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Reliable and predictable onsite attendance. Qualifications: At least 3 years of commercial banking, underwriting or portfolio management and structuring experience. Formal credit training, preferred. Knowledge of commercial banking products and services including credit analysis, underwriting, and treasury management products and services. Demonstrated strong financial acumen and high level of problem-solving skills. Salesforce/nCino experience is preferred. Effective communicator, results oriented, demonstrates the ability to excel in high-pressure situations. Exhibit strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate long term relationships and influence others internally and externally. Proven performer in a fast-paced service-oriented role ideally from a commercial banking environment with strong knowledge and understanding of bank products, services and operations. Proficient technical skills with the Internet and in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Bachelor's degree with exposure to Finance, Business, or Economics courses is preferred or equivalent work experience.
