The Financial Analyst is responsible for overseeing financial accounts within the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology and Cancer Biology. The FA will be responsible for budgeting, financial reporting and monitoring, and financial analyses. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Budgeting: Assist with the preparation and submission of SKMC annual operating and capital budget. Lend technical assistance to department leadership for preparation of the annual budget. Identifies and reports budget variances to Administrator. Assist in the year-end reconciliation of all departmental accounts. Financial Reporting: Ensure all revenue and expenditures are accurately recorded and accrued to appropriate cost centers. Provide timely reporting of revenue and expenditures. Review Budget Variance Reports (BVR) and prepare financial projections on a monthly basis. Run updated GL and labor distribution reports. Process monthly Interdepartmental Transfers (IDTrsquo;s) and maintain tracking log. Monitor faculty and staff effort; maintain spreadsheet for salary source distribution changes. Produce fee-for-service invoices for consulting work performed by Jefferson Researchers. Keeps track of accounts receivable on a monthly basis. Provide variance analysis and monthly financial forecasts to Department Administrator using financial performance and budget data. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of Jefferson. EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:Bachelorrsquo;s Degree in Finance or related field preferred.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 1-2 years of accounting/finance experience. Experience in an academic/clinical setting is preferred.
