Who you are - Internal Control Analyst You are a dynamic, detail oriented, intuitive person with the ability to develop relationships, build rapport and become a trusted team member. What you'll do Review and monitor internal reports to ensure compliance with credit union policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Identify areas of strengths and weaknesses within the internal control program and makes recommendations on ways to improve functions and processes. Assist Internal Control Officer with periodic, surprise cash audits at all branch locations, as well as periodic branch security audits of all branches. Help to prepare branch security audit findings for management and security officer review. Monitor branch internal control records for all branch locations. Ensure cash audits are conducted on time and according to credit union policies and procedures Monitor and review branch key and combo logs for all branch locations. Assist with periodic reporting and analysis of internal control reviews. Analyze reports to identify trends and patterns and escalates, if necessary. Participate in the development and maintenance of internal control procedures. Collaborate with Branch Operations to ensure relevant procedures are up to date and accessible to branch network. Participate in risk assessments conducted for the ERM program. Assist Internal Control Officer in the analysis of identified risks and collaborates with Risk team to create and implement controls for deficiencies, lack of segregation of duties, control gaps, etc. Stay current on industry developments, attends compliance training and seminars. Perform other tasks or functions as required, requested, necessary or prudent from time to time. Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required: A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of similar or related experience in a compliance or operations role within a financial institution, and encompassing a broad knowledge of products and services, is required. Strong team player, results oriented, must possess strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. WORKING CONDITIONS Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise. MENTAL AND/OR EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities.
