We are seeking to expand our AV Engineering team with the addition of a new DE (Design Engineer). The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable in advanced Audiovisual systems to include Unified Communications, AV over IP solutions, Video Walls, Processing, Control, and Audio. The AV Design Engineer will provide fully designed systems to include Bill of Materials (BoM), Estimated Labor hours, and line drawings to our sales team and project managers. The DE Candidate will design complex audio-visual systems from start to completion with client acceptance. The candidate will work closely with Sales, Purchasing, IT, Warehousing, and PM/Installation Services to provide our customers with a product and service that exceeds expectations. He/she will also be available to provide knowledge and experience-based assistance to the service and installation teams as needed. The position will be located in our Headquarters office in Springfield, NJ. The position includes occasional travel to customer sites throughout NJ. As an AV Design Engineer, the ideal candidate will need excellent communication and customer service skills, combined with a technically sound understanding many of the following: Barco, Christie, Planar, Direct View LED, Cisco, Zoom, Microsoft, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Aurora, Dante, Samsung, LG, Phillips, NEC, DynaScan, DataPath, NovaStar, BrightSign, NDI cameras, and other AV systems. We are looking at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience designing AV solutions. What else will you be doing? •Designing AV Signal flows •Using AutoCAD or Visio to create AV Design diagrams •Creating Bill of Materials (BOM) •Configuring of equipment •Creation of interactive GUI (Extron, Crestron, and QSC) •Creating Labor estimates •Review of AV Quotes both pre- and post-Sale •Meeting with customers to help understand solution requests Key Responsibilities •Provide accurate job costs for design build projects in conjunction with the sales team. •Provide accurate measurements and calculations to support AV system designs. •Provide a detailed material list and account for all job costs associated with Design Quotes being presented to customers. •Create accurate project estimation from a needs analysis or set of bid documents which typically consists of a set of job drawings and specification books. •Create submittal and installation documentation that is required of a given project. •Work with our in-house Project Management and CAD teams to produce all system drawings and documentation that is required of the project, including but not limited to one-line documents, rack elevations, BOM, Change Orders, RFI's, O&M manuals, close-out documentation, and as-built documentation and drawings. •Work with our in-house IT team to set up client specific networks including VPN, VLANs, switch and router specification configuration, bandwidth calculations. •Maintain a positive customer interaction throughout each job. •Review & understand SOWs and project contracts to determine the time to deliver, allotment of available and required internal and/or third-party resources to various phases of the project (people and dollars). •Support our onsite team during installations and be the conduit with manufacturers on bugs/issues - as needed. •Programming custom control of AV equipment specified Skills and Experience Education and Knowledge •Minimum of 3-5 years Design Engineering or CTS-D equivalent professional experience. •Strong aptitude and desire to learn AV design and systems engineering. •Strong work ethic, drive, and aptitude. •Working knowledge Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam, and Visio - AutoCad a plus •Onsite (construction) workplace experience a plus. •Custom scripting experience a plus. •Advanced networking experience a plus License/Certifications (Possess or Acquire within 6 months of hire): •CTS-D (Preferred) •Extron Control Professional (Required) •Q-Sys Level 2 (Required) Desired Additional Knowledge, Experience and Skills: •Extron Authorized Programmer (Preferred) •Crestron Certified Designer (Preferred) •Crestron Certified Programmer (Preferred) •Dante Level 3 (Preferred) At we recognize, respect and value the contributions of each employee.
