The Financial Analyst will forecast, budget, and assist in ad hoc requests for executive leadership. The Financial Analyst will report to the Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and will be responsible for Corporate FP&A work streams, including preparation of forecasts and assistance with management reporting (P/L and balance sheet), as well as related analysis, and ad hoc requests from management. The position will support several cost center functions including Finance, Legal, Human Resources and R&D. The role provides a great opportunity to expand business acumen and learn about AdvanSix business and product lines. Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare monthly reporting and financial analysis for Senior Management, including explanations of variances to forecast, plan, and prior periods and other ad hoc analysis as requested Assist in the month end close process for Corporate functions and the US Amines business, including preparation of journal entries and analysis of variances Develop presentations for month-end financial reporting, the Leadership Team and the Board of Directors, Assist in quarterly margin, revenue, and price-volume analysis as part of SEC reporting requirements Identify, understand, analyze, and provide insight into key performance metrics Assist in forecasting and analyzing inventory fluctuations across AdvanSix product lines and be able to provide high level explanations Identify incremental process improvements in work processes, make appropriate recommendations, and creatively solve problems In partnership with cost center owners, assist in planning and budging of cost as well as identify and recommend cost savings opportunities Proactively provide insightful, actionable, and accurate financial reporting analysis and must be able to communicate the information to non-finance stakeholders Other responsibilities include contributing to broader FP&A reporting organization initiatives, including other strategic projects, optimization of systems, etc. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or Business-related discipline, or relevant working experience. Minimum 1+ year experience in a finance. Understand financial statements and ability to analyze results against plans and prior forecasts. Additional Qualifications: High level of initiative to recognize stakeholder needs, strong sense of ownership of the requirements ability to work independently. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, strong Excel knowledge preferred, and Data Analytics. Reliable and trusted partner in support of change and optimization for FP&A processes and practices. Demonstrates ability and curiosity to implement continuous improvement initiatives. Strong business acumen, communication, and analytical skills. Comfortable working within tight deadlines, paying attention to details and maintaining accuracy of reported results. Team-oriented and able to work cross-functionally with business partners. Knowledge of GAAP and business processes. SAP and BPC experience preferred.
