US Citizenship or Permanent Residency Visa is required. Business Development Manager Optikos has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager. You will own the business development initiatives crucial to future growth of the business. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to ensure successful product launches and customer satisfaction. This role reports directly to the Director of Business Strategy/Sales. What You'll Work On: Research, identify and communicate with target customers and business partners in order to generate new business on a regular basis. Proactively target and cultivate new opportunities through various channels, including existing and past customer relationships. Search for companies and technologies that meet our target product profile and identify ways we could partner up. Advance and implement strategic plans to penetrate new markets and expand existing ones. Manage the most complex or strategically important divisional business development opportunities, which will contribute to the organization's long-term business goals. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders. Develop and execute sales strategies, including pricing, negotiation, and contract management. Possess a deep understanding of our products and their applications. Effectively communicate the value proposition to clients and partners through presentations, demonstrations, and marketing materials. Consult with new customers to qualify and gather their technical project requirements. Attend and manage various trade show activities. In advance of shows, you will perform research, and outreach requesting customer and partner meetings. During the show, you will present and pitch Optikos' value proposition, develop rapport, and build collaborative relationships. After the show, you will follow up on leads, schedule post-show calls with appropriate sales and engineering resources, and track trade show Return on Investment (ROI). Be the primary relationship manager with outside companies; coordinating meetings, data rooms, site visits, and evaluations. Build business cases outlining investment opportunity, risks, and financial returns. Build and manage a funnel of business development opportunities supporting multiple strategy areas simultaneously with routine updates to executive management. Deliver proactive, transparent, and effective communications cadence to ensure timely dissemination of information with the executive leadership team. Train Key Account Managers on successful techniques to source new business and help them develop a strategy to grow their target industry Track and report on key performance indicators, sales metrics, and market trends. Use data-driven insights to make informed business decisions Skills and Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Photonics-related field (Engineering, Applied Science, Physics) required. Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated sales growth success in a customer facing role. Manage, maintain, and track in the company's CRM (and in a timely manner): account correspondence, capture new product requirements, leads, ongoing project activities, opportunities, order pipeline, pulse of the customer, sales funnel, territory sales forecast. Organize customer development road trips, attend tradeshows, conferences and make other visits (30-50% travel required) Exceptional customer service skills and ability to work independently. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced team environment. Must be detail-oriented and set high standards for accuracy. Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills required. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all employee and company information.
