Overview: Vision Technologies is a full-service IT/IP integration company for commercial enterprise and federal clients. Solutions include: Design, engineering, installation and support services of network infrastructure (fiber/copper cabling), audio visual systems, electronic security, network route/switch engineering, Wi-Fi, Public Safety and Cellular Distributed Antenna Systems and professional/managed services. Vision is currently looking for a Mobility Technician to assist in the installation of Cellular DAS & Public Safety DAS, Wi-Fi and Route/Switch networking projects. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with teams of installers assisting with the installation, termination and testing of cable and equipment. Additional focus will be on supporting with project documentation and overall delivery of the project in accordance with customer requirements while meeting or improving budget, schedule, scope, and quality targets Responsibilities: Perform proper installation of copper and fiber cabling infrastructures under the supervision of the Lead Technician as per Vision Technologies infrastructure installation procedures, EIA/TIA standards, and BICSI standards and requirements. Work as a team member to perform infrastructure installations. Understand reading floor plans. Report to Lead Technician any potential problem areas, which may adversely affect performance or quality. Must be able to perform the following activities within a reasonable amount of on the job training: Technician must demonstrate good customer skills. Technician must stay current with the latest technologies and installation procedures. Technician must have a full understanding of the scope of work. Technician must assist Project Leader in job layout and plan of execution. Technician must have the ability to understand and accurately complete all paperwork required by the Project Leader. Technician must be fully competent of the Vision standard for quality installation craftsmanship and customer service excellence. Technician must be fully competent at installation and termination of various copper and fiber products in accordance with TIA/EIA standards and BICSI standards. Technician must be fully competent in testing and troubleshooting of copper and fiber cable plant systems in accordance with TIA/EIA standards and BICSI standards. Technician must be fully competent at assembling, installing, and securing various cable trays, racks, and cabinets used in telecommunications closets. Technician must understand the basic principles of grounding and bonding as described in the BICSI installation methods and must be capable of properly bonding cable trays and properly grounding racks, cable trays, etc. Technician must be knowledgeable in the proper operation of all Visions Cat5, Cat5E, Cat6, Antritsu testers to include proper operation of the tester, properly saving test results and properly downloading and storing test results on the network. Technician must be knowledgeable in the proper operation of Visions fiber power meter testers to include proper operation of the tester, properly saving test results and properly downloading and storing test results on the network. Technician must be knowledgeable in the proper operation of an OTDR to include proper operation of the OTDR, properly saving test results and properly downloading and storing the test results on the network. Technician must be fully capable of interpreting test results from fiber and copper testers and successfully troubleshooting and properly repairing the fiber or copper cable plant to ultimately ensure a correct and valid test. Technician must be detail oriented, analytical. Process and compliance focused Ability to work independent of direct supervision; self-starting; Team Player. Good organizational, written, and verbal skills (meticulous regarding documentation). Excellent people skills, customer oriented, willingness to help others. Positive and Proactive approach Willingness to travel. Strong work ethic and ability to have flexible work schedule. Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or GED required BICSI and industry certifications are preferred Knowledge of fiber terms and troubleshooting is needed Ability to drive company vehicle throughout the day This position requires a background check and drivers license check Ability to lift various items is required, as well to stand for long periods of time and climb ladders Physical Requirements: The physical demands of this position are those that are necessary to meet the responsibilities and essential functions of this position.
