Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in facilities planning preferred 3+ years of relevant experience Additional Qualifications and Skills 5+ years of experience managing athletic facilities. Strong communication skills (written, verbal and in goal/expectation setting), attention to detail and organizational skills. Project management expertise. Ability to perform vehicle maintenance preferred. Knowledge of NCAA timing and scoring equipment, Knowledge of multi-media systems, replay systems and other sideline media tools. Knowledge of NCAA rules, protocols and procedures. Knowledge of facility scheduling software preferred. Position Description Manage the daily operation and facilities staff of assigned Athletic buildings including, but not limited to scheduling, maintenance, event management, and works closely with the Associate Athletics Director, Facilities and Operations and Assistant Director - Athletic Facilities. Supervise Athletics Property Operations Assistants, including scheduling, work order assignments and completion. Schedule and supervise all internal and external service vendors. Manage operational budgets of assigned facilities. Coordinate the purchasing needs of assigned buildings, monitoring and tracking usage of all materials, equipment, and supplies. Tasked with expanding functionality of the work order system. Oversight of lighting controls, security cameras, access points, BAU-Desigo-ENE systems. Supports internal and external events by managing logistics, coordinating setup and breakdown. Reviews architectural and engineering drawings to ensure systems, equipment and layout meet campus standards. Frequent coordinator of health & wellness programs with Environmental Health & Safety staff, including but not limited to, food service, ammonia plant operations, emergency response, MSDS requirements, OSHA and others. Maintain NCAA Division 1 competition level venues. Responsible for development and implementation of deferred maintenance programs Oversees and assists in the general maintenance and cleanliness of assigned facilities including the locker rooms, concourses, seating areas, meeting facilities and other areas as assigned. Works with FMO Custodial Supervisor to coordinate general arena cleaning and event coverage. Manages public relations between customers and facility management. Collaborates daily with Cambridge Landscape site supervisor to support outdoor athletic activity throughout the Allston complex. Act as department representative for projects as assigned up to $300,000 as well as coordinate with campus partners, City of Boston and City of Cambridge officials to ensure proper permitting and inspection cycles are in place. Assumes additional responsibilities as required. Job Summary The Athletic Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the Harvard Athletics Allston Complex including 18 buildings encompassing over 1 million gross square feet. The incumbent will manage a team of full- and part-time staff members as well as contracted vendor staff who serve Harvard and external community members year-round. Administrative responsibilities include organizational matters such as staff scheduling and management, facility maintenance, assigning, tracking, and completing work orders in addition to other duties. This position reports to the Associate Director of Athletics, Facilities & Operations and provides operational oversight of the physical plant, equipment/heavy machinery, and ensures all areas are properly maintained to foster a safe working environment.
