Description Established in 1965, Marukai Corporation (d.b.a Tokyo Central) opened up its business as one of the first international Japan-based retailers in the US market. With our business grow and expanding, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Quality Control Manager to ensure the highest level of quality throughout our entire organization. This role is responsible for developing and implementing quality control processes, evaluating existing processes and identifying areas of improvement, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. Job Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and systems. Conduct QC inspections at all Marukai business united from stores, central kitchens, and restaurants, and collect the direct current status information regarding these inspections Monitor, identify, and address any quality issues. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards. Communicate with store team, kitchen team, and restaurant team about following food safety codes that line up with Cal Code and industry standards. Monitor processes and performance to detect any areas of improvement. Coordinate and support Central Kitchen QC team members when needing help. Support Facility and Maintenance /Quality Assurance tasks and implement the solution for the stores and kitchens' quality related issues. Communicate with vendors and collect pricing and quotes for store repairs if necessary. Document and analyze quality data and performance metrics, including handle and operate ZOHO Projects to organize new tasks and issues happening across all the stores Manage pest control program among all the business units from vendor selection, task completion, and invoices and payments. Overlook the ECOLAB programs at all the stores and communicate with technicians and set-up new equipment and communicating with area manager/service manager Provide guidance and support to other departments. Setting up the necessary new equipment needed around the store. Support safety issues and overlook Insurance reports conducted by our 3rd Party Insurance Carriers. Created and updates a Store Incident Log = Incidents that happen across all our stores that apply to Theft/Customer Injuries/Vehicle Damage/Other Train employees in quality control procedures. Develop QC team members on conducting company business unites inspections, including stores and kitchens. Other tasks as assigned by the Manager regarding Quality Control area. Proven experience in quality control management in food industry or grocery retail business. Retail produce and floral knowledge and USDA/CFIA Inspection experience helpful. In-depth knowledge of quality control processes and standards Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills Strong prioritizing, organizing, multitask handling, and problem-solving abilities are needed Able to work independently and as part of a team Ability of working on a flexible schedule and work with minimum supervision Must be detail oriented Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Word. Able to work independently and as part of a team Excellent oral and written communication skills. Certificates & Licenses: California Food Manager Certification California State Driver's License Language Ability: Speak, Read and Write English fluently is must Japanese bilingual skill will be plus Other Physical Requirements: Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception) Sense of Sound (Hear oral communication and buzzers/alarms) Tolerance to temperature (The temperature gap between cold storage and kitchen)
