Your impact: As the Senior Editor, Deals + Trends, you will lead the editorial direction, development and execution of GH's tentpole and daily sales and deals content and strategy. This includes top editing all related coverage to ensure quality and accuracy. This role will lead a dynamic team of commerce writers, ensuring streamlined, accurate, engaging content that elevates the Good Housekeeping Institute's product choices with rigorous standards for accuracy and consumer advocacy and involves ideating, assigning, editing and writing content on trending and buzzy products, as well as breaking news on consumer alerts and other product-related news. Key Responsibilities: Editorial Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive, agile content strategy for reviews, sales and deals, ensuring alignment with Good Housekeeping's brand voice and editorial standards. Content Planning: Assign, top-edit and manage the editorial output for all sales, deals and timely commerce content for in-house writers at GH and Hearst's central commerce team, and manage freelance stories, as needed, from mapping evergreen content calendars on a monthly basis to fielding urgent pitches on a daily basis. Content Creation: Write and edit in-depth product reviews, deal round-ups and buying guides across various product categories as needed to support the team and meet content goals. Market Analysis: Keep a finger on the pulse of market trends, emerging products and industry developments. Contribute to the overall editorial strategy by identifying new opportunities and trends in the commerce space. Cross-team Collaboration: Work closely with Hearst's central SEO and commerce teams to align content strategies and ensure cohesive content production. Facilitate effective communication across departments, ensuring Institute standards are being met. Performance Metrics: Monitor and analyze content performance metrics, using data insights to refine editorial strategies, optimize strategy and improve engagement. Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of writers and editors, providing guidance on content development, review processes and brand best practices. Host monthly meetings to recap performance and optimize best practices based on findings. Diversity and Inclusion: Support efforts to diversify the voices and experiences reflected in our content and on our teams. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 5 years in editorial roles, with a strong focus on product reviews, consumer sales and deals. Content: Proven track record of creating engaging, accurate and data-driven content related to consumer products and sales promotions. Skills: Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills. Strong analytical abilities and experience with content management systems and SEO best practices. The base salary for this role is between $74,000 and $84,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future . This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
