Job Type Full-time Description Fortney Hospitality Group, parent company of "Brothers Bar & Grill" and other establishments owns and operates 21 high volume restaurant and bars in eight states. We are currently looking for a Manager of Human Resources to work out of our La Crosse, Wisconsin Headquarters. The Manager of Human Resources originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes quality, productivity and high standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The Manager of Human Resources coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs; reports to the Executive Committee. Requirements This position will: •Oversee and perform HR functions relative to the 3 subsets of employees; corporate office staff members; company managers; and the staff employed at FHG, Inc. store locations. •Be responsible for strengthening and developing the company manager's communication, performance management and documentation skills, in addition to consistent implementation of the Employee Handbook Policies. •Advise on proper treatment of policy violations and approving terminations, exercising care that reasons are well documented and are not vague or discriminatory. This duty applies to all corporate, management level and location staff members. •Handle particularly difficult or sensitive matters with location staff members including: o Serving as a contact for employees who wish to discuss concerns, complaints and issues with a person other than their management team. o Properly handling any complaints or issues that are raised and contacting the general council when necessary. o Responding to unemployment claims. o Overseeing workers compensation matters. •Be responsible for understanding and complying with the employment law rules, standards, acts and policies set forth by regulatory agencies such as the Department of Labor at the Federal and State levels. General responsibilities will include but are not limited to: •Recruiting and staffing for corporate staff and company management positions. •Performance management and assistance with professional development. •Improvement of Human Resources processes and systems. •Organization development. •Maintenance and consistent application of the Handbook policies, both corporate office and store level. •Compliance to regulatory concerns. •Employee orientation, development, and training. •Policy development and documentation. •Employee relations. •Compensation and benefits administration. •Oversight of Human Resources Assistant and Administrative based positions. •Maintenance of complete personnel files and any necessary documentation for all staff members. •Various project management assignments. •Keeping informed of new regulatory and compliance standards. •Identifying areas where the company may be non-compliant with employment law standards and constructing a plan of corrective action. •Oversight of the workers compensation claims and policy standing. •Travel as necessary.
