ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST

Come learn more about us! ext. 436 Job purpose Duties: Process Accounts Payable invoices, process commercial and government billing, and analysis that pertains to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. Accounting Office Duties: Processing and enter Accounts Payable Print, code and match Accounts Payables with Purchase Orders Enter Accounts Payable invoices in the AP module Print and mail checks, match check copies with paid invoices Maintain credit card payments, match payment voucher with paid invoices Maintain accounts payable in transit account of unapproved payables Track expenses and per diem for employees who work out of town on government jobs Expense Account Analysis Process commercial and Government billing Receive and review invoices for accuracy Key invoices into billing module Print and mail invoices Keep the AR Roll Forward spreadsheet current- may need to be updated daily Maintain the AR Aging for timely receipts of payment Cross train with co-workers to serve as their back up Help co-workers when needed or as time permits New duties may be added over time, if need be Competencies Accounting Capacity. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Routinely, there will be a need for the incumbent to work/walk Lyon shipyard and all areas therein. Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. This position periodically requires long hours and weekend work. Regular and predictable on-site attendance is an essential function and a prerequisite to perform other essential functions of the position. Travel None Required Education and Experience Four to seven years' experience in the Accounting field, or any similar combination of education and experience. Two to three years of experience with government billing. Preferred Education and Experience Education based on requirements that are job-related and consistent with the business necessity.
