Tax Manager CPA

Tax Manager Position - Wilmington, NC (Hybrid) New Gig Solutions is recruiting for a Tax Manager on behalf of our client, a reputable CPA firm in Wilmington, NC. This full-time position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining in-office and remote work. Role Overview: The Tax Manager will work directly with the tax department, serving a diverse client base including individuals, businesses, non-profit organizations, trusts, and various other entities. Primary Responsibilities: Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns Communicate with clients to gather supporting documents Identify tax issues and develop solutions Provide innovative tax planning and review complex income tax returns Supervise tax team members to ensure accurate completion of returns Monitor tax law developments and create strategies to capitalize on changes Prepare/review technical tax memoranda Resolve tax authority notices Maintain effective control procedures for all tax processes Train and mentor staff on procedures and policies Required Qualifications: BS/BA in Accounting (Master's in Accounting/Tax preferred) 5-8 years' experience in Public Accounting Experience with individual, closely held business, and pass-through entity tax returns Excellent project management, analytical, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and budgets Proficient accounting, analytical, and research skills Willingness to work in a team and perform administrative tasks when needed Reliable transportation and ability to work in-person multiple days per week Preferred Qualifications: CPA License QuickBooks experience Experience with high net-worth individual and multi-state tax returns Experience preparing exempt organization tax returns Experience managing a small team Benefits: Flexible Paid Time Off Health, Dental & Vision Insurance 401k Retirement Plan with Employer Matching Hybrid Work Location Continuing Education Opportunities Routine Company Outings & Events Relaxed Office Environment Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
