Join Purdue University Fort Wayne: We are currently seeking a full-time, on-site, Custodian in our Building Services department. This position maintains and performs custodial duties within assigned university building area(s). The pay for this position is $13/hr. Primary Responsibilities: Provide daily general cleaning duties in assigned area that includes - classrooms, offices, labs, restrooms, stairwells, and hallways. Trash removal. Floor care - sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, stripping and refinishing floors, carpet cleaning Assist with special event set-up and removal of tables and chairs. Ensure adequate supplies are in stock. Perform routine facility and equipment inspections and inform supervisor of needed repairs. Required Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED. Ability to operate commercial floor care equipment and climb ladders. Move, lift, carry, push and pull 10 to 25 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, materials and equipment. Benefits: Free tuition through Purdue University Global.
