Job Type Full-time Description The QC Manager is responsible for the implementation and the maintenance of the quality assurance management process, ensuring that all quality control tasks are carried out by documenting the construction process and inspecting each stage of construction. The QC Manager works closely with all members of the project team to ensure that all projects meet the standards of quality. In addition, this position works to educate and inform employees on current and updated building requirements through effective training/communication programs. This role requires extensive travel to our construction projects. Provide technical expertise to comprehend the specifications, standards, and code requirements for all projects Perform daily field inspections to verify contractor's work complies with the project specifications and applicable codes. Includes performing material inspections to verify products are to specifications and storage, staging and material handling methods are implemented Submit reports identifying areas inspected and any significant findings Participate in construction meetings and initial, follow-up and final inspections Initiate and track deficiency report issues to completion Assist with warranty issue resolution Attend weekly trade specific meetings Provide support during design, construction, and turnover Assist with facilitating QC reporting -follow-up with responsible parties for open action items Ensure procedures and checklists are in place to document that material and equipment are installed to the project's requirements Inspect installations by all trades to ensure work conforms to project requirements Read and understand construction plans and specifications including identification of errors for resolution by others Review plans of project with architect, construction leadership, and field teams as needed Create, document, and distribute checklists, inspection reports, completion lists and punch lists Communicate to facilitate field activities required for issue completion, along with issue durations and due dates with trade partners Identify/mitigate risk, solve QC issues Train field leadership-Construction Project Managers and Superintendents in building to HILLS standards - best practices Train and ensure that Superintendents/Assist Superintendents are quality conscious Support field leadership and Construction Project Managers as needed Manage QC issues and warranty claims to mitigate cost; respond promptly and when appropriate, holding responsible party accountable for cost Attend and participate in pre-installation meetings Train field teams to verify and document that all materials installed for a project are in conformance with the approved submittal, are handled and stored appropriately Hold trade partners accountable to resolve issues Review installation procedures and methodology requirements, making sure trade installations meets industry and manufacturer's requirements Requirements Required Skills and Competencies: Knowledge and experience in Multi-family Construction Experience with Estimating Experience with Construction software systems Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and engineer plans Knowledge of zoning and building codes Computer skill in applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications Prerequisites: 10+ years construction experience; multi-family experience required 10 years supervisory experience Valid driver's license and auto insurance Preferred Behavior Traits: Professional, organized, detailed, analytical, pro-active Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Physical Demands: Associate must be able to speak and hear Associate must regularly walk, climb or balance Vision abilities required close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, ability to focus and depth perception Work Time Requirement of Position: Full time, typically Monday through Friday - additional hours as needed Salary Description $100,000-$110,000
