About Us Brigham and Women's Harbor Medical Associates, a member of Mass General Brigham Medical Group, is a multispecialty, primary care practice with more than 65 physicians. We have several offices across the South Shore and are affiliated with Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center, and South Shore Hospital. Our physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and support staff recognize the importance of prompt, expert, and compassionate care for patients whose needs span from general health maintenance to treatment for complex medical problems. The Opportunity We are seeking a Per Diem Physician Assistant to join our Urgent Care team at Harbor Medical Associates. Our Urgent Care centers are designed to provide service for minor conditions such as allergies, respiratory infections, sore throats, sports injuries, minor cuts and bruises, and various illnesses requiring immediate non-emergency medical care. The Center provides healthcare for all ages, 6 months and older, and radiology and laboratory services are available on-site. Our Per Diem Physician Assistants work a minimum of 3 shifts per month and we strongly encourage weekend coverage. Our centers are staffed Monday-Friday from 8 AM to 8 PM, Saturdays from 9 AM to 4 PM, and Sundays from 9 AM to 2 PM. Our providers rotate between our two locations: 541 Main Street, South Weymouth, MA 02190 and 15 Corporate Park Dr, Pembroke, MA 02359. Duties and Responsibilities Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to the patient population in the ambulatory setting Performs complete histories and physical examinations Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population Adheres to all established safety policies, procedures, and precautions Demonstrates understanding of procedures, policies, and documentation required to ensure compliance with standards of care Qualifications Qualifications Education: Required to have completed a Master's Degree program accredited by the Accreditation and Review Committee for Physician Assistants (ARC-PA) or other accrediting agency as may qualify a graduate to sit for the NCCPA certifying examination License: Must be currently licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Physician Assistant. Must have or eligible for, and maintain, a current DEA registration and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration Experience: Previous Urgent Care or Emergency Room experience preferred Must be comfortable treating pediatric patients EEO Statement Brigham and Women's Physicians Organization is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
