Description: The Pharmacy Technician II performs technical functions of drug distribution for Ambulatory Pharmacy Services under the direct supervision of licensed Clinical Pharmacists or Pharmacy Technician III and assists Pharmacists/Managers in the supervision of Pharmacy Technician I and Pharmacy Externs. Duties & Responsibilities: Filling outpatient prescriptions Providing excellent customer service to all Entering prescription orders into a computerized system Filling prescriptions, maintaining inventory, cash register/point of sale transactions Assisting in maintaining an efficient workflow Navigating complex processes and systems Understanding and acting in accordance with the laws pertaining to confidentiality Basic pharmaceutical compounding skills (sterile and non-sterile) Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Required: 1. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the State of Illinois. 2. Any one of the following that equals six (6)months: A. Successful completion of a formal training program in technical, non-professional pharmaceutical procedures and practices. OR B. Work experience in technical, non-professional pharmaceutical procedures and practices. 3. One (1) year (12 months) of work experience as a pharmacy technician.
