Back End Software Engineer (Java) - Remote

We are looking for a talented Back End Software Engineer (Java) to join our Informatics team, building our next generation cloud notebook application. You will be focused on the back-end design and development of our cloud notebook product, helping turn marketing requirements into an easy to use and elegant application designed for the scientific community. You Will: Collaborate with fellow team members on priorities, specifications, and feature implementation Craft well-documented, clean, and tested code Create secure, performant interfaces and services Build and maintain new, high-impact functionality into Signals Notebook Work with cloud services and technologies Basic Qualifications: 4-5 years of professional work experience Exceptional Java programming skills Experience building Web Services and Restful APIs Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Reactive Programming (Vert.x) preferred Exposure to CI/CD (Jenkins GitHub) Experience working with JDBC in a transactional application (using any RDBMS but preferably PostgreSQL) An awareness of performance implications of different queries and inserts/updates Thorough understanding of and experience with structured software development methodologies including design, development, and testing in an Agile environment Must have strong teamwork orientation and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams Excellent work ethic and strong sense of ownership of end result Entrepreneurial minded, creative problem solver, and innovative thinker Life science experience a plus Benefits: We provide competitive and comprehensive benefits to our employees.
