PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: The Business Development Manager will work closely with commercial, marketing, R&D and operation teams to lead business development efforts in the assigned territory. The ideal candidate will have a firm understanding of oncology research and market dynamics. The candidate will also possess a strong ability to carry out scientific discussions with senior researchers within biopharma and discuss the use of research services provided by Champions Oncology. The candidate will be expected to have a firm understanding of how in vivo and ex vivo pharmacology platforms are used to advance experimental therapeutics. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Achieves annual sales targets for territory. Establishes, nurtures and grows client relationships. Develops account plans and partnerships Provides weekly sales activity reports. Follows up on leads. Provides general intelligence on key competitors. Sells Champions' capabilities and differentiation frameworks. Sets and manages customer expectations. Collaborates with companywide resources to achieve superior customer satisfaction. Organizes and hosts client visits. Uses CRM to manage internal communication and document territory and client information as required for the business unit. Responsible for opportunity management and accurate pipeline forecasting. Collaborates effectively with Medical Affairs, R&D, project leadership and operation teams at Champions Oncology to bring potential opportunities to their attention and to identify and win studies. Required travel 25-50% Other duties may be assigned verbally at any time. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Relevant experience in the biopharma industry with comprehensive understanding of drug discovery and development and a broad knowledge of the biopharma and healthcare sector. At least 2 years relevant experience working in and a deep knowledge of the oncology and immuno-oncology therapeutic area. At least 2 years of relevant experience in business development or related experience and an established network in the biopharmaceutical industry. Strong interpersonal, analytical, critical-thinking, verbal and written communication skills. Highly developed organizational skills, operational skills, and ability to understand the content of and memorialize interactions potential partners. Strong leadership skills and proven ability to influence others to reach common goals as well as act independently. Must possess the executive presence to facilitate the decision-making process among client and Champions' senior executives. Self-motivated, attention to detail, and proven ability to work well on teams EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Medical Doctor or Doctorate (MD or PhD) in biological/medical disciplines or PharmD with 2 plus years postdoctoral or relevant experience, or Master of Science (MS) in biological/medical disciplines with 4 plus years of relevant experience.
