What You'll Do: Ohio Department of Public Safety - Emergency Management Agency Report In Location: 2855 West Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43235 Work Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM (Various hours including weekends and holidays) (CURRENTLY HYBRID ELIGIBLE) The current hybrid schedule for this position is one (1) day of telework per pay period. Subject to change. Works under the direction of the Public Safety Intelligence Administrator to plan & direct the analysis & production within the Emergency Management Agency (EMA) & supervise Public Safety Intelligence Analysts, conduct analytical product reviews & oversee & coordinate policies developed by Public Safety Intelligence Analysts to ensure consistency & efficiency: • Oversee formulation & implementation of plans, policies, & procedures for analyzing & disseminating of time-sensitive event or incident information to state, local & federal emergency response & other officials; • Maintain contact information, distribution lists & alerting systems to ensure timely notification of state response partners; • Establish priorities & manage the information & intelligence gathering for the State of Ohio Awareness Report (SOAR) & other situational awareness reports; • Establish priorities & supervise subordinate personnel (e.g., maintains staffing schedule rotations for 24/7 coverage or shot/no-notice gaps; provide developmental opportunities & work direction, coach staff to foster development, monitor staff activities to ensure quality customer service & information technology security, evaluate performance, approve section staffing levels, recommend discipline, pre-screen applications & participate in interviews); • Write & submit reports & technical evaluations to Ohio EMA leadership & partners in Ohio's emergency management, public safety, & homeland security communities; • Conduct incident specific briefings to senior agency leadership & others as directed; • Notify the Ohio EMA Executive Director, Assistant Director, & other Emergency Operations Center (EOC) leadership team & section chiefs when an incident warrants, based on the Incident Notification guidance; • Implement the decisions, directives & policies issued by the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) & EMA leadership team; • Make recommendation on courses of action & solution sets for identified problems & disasters; • Coordinate planning activities, provide technical support, maintain partnerships, & ensure collaboration & information sharing between state, federal & local emergency management, public safety, & homeland security partners; • Develop & implement a Situational Awareness training course for Ohio EMA employees & state EOC partners; • Train agency employees in the use of situational awareness protocols; • Establish & maintain the Watch Office as the infrastructure of Emergency Support Function 5 - Information & Planning, for EOC activations; • Revise & update the SOAR procedures; • Make adjustments to training to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities; • Respond to telephone or written inquires & complaints; • Serve on committee & prepare speeches; • Respond to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during critical incidents; • Participate in cross-training exercises with Homeland Security & Criminal Intelligence; • Perform related other duties as assigned. Qualifications 48 mos. exp conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques. -Or completion of graduate core program in homeland security, political science, criminal justice, emergency management, public health, international affairs or related field; 12 mos. exp. conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques. -Or 12 mos. exp. as Public Safety Intelligence Analyst, 64931. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
