Job Type Full-time Description POSITION TITLE: Industrial Electrician EFFECTIVE DATE: 2021 REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor DEPARTMENT: Production JOB LEVEL: 500 STATUS: Non-Exempt POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY Industrial Electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and parts, such as control panels, motors, hydraulic pneumatic, and other types of systems. This position requires extensive knowledge of electrical components as well as electrical safety codes and regulations. They must be professional, technical, and mechanically proficient. Keep work area safe, neat, and clean. In this position, the ability and motivation to learn quickly is imperative. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS •Arrive at plant on time, properly groomed, mentally alert, and physically able to work. •Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications •Install new or refurbished equipment for manufacturing. •Rum tests to ensure new machinery is ready. •Diagnosis, troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other devices. •Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records •Complete reports pertaining to repair and maintenance of machine •Operating mobile equipment as required such as front loaders, skid steers, forklift, etc. •Assisting with a wide range of other duties in the plant as needed •Strictly adhere to PTT! Health and Safety Policies and Procedures •Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES •Safety minded •Problem-solving •Analytical and critical thinking •Effective communication •Attention to detail •Strong organizational skills •Ability to complete assigned tasks in fast paced situations EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE •High School Diploma or GED preferred with strong math skills •Completion of a four- or five-year industrial electrician apprenticeship program or A combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in industrial electrical equipment is required PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE •Previous work in a manufacturing environment preferred •Trade certification for industrial electricians is preferred PHYSICAL JOB DEMANDS Ability to lift 60 lbs., work in extreme hot and cold weather, must stand for long periods of time, will be exposed to loud noise levels, operate hand and power tools for long periods of time. Work in an environment with dirt, grease, and dust. Manual dexterity to operate specialized equipment. Ability to hear telephone conversations and speak clearly. May need a high level of concentration in a busy area. WORKING CONDITIONS Monday through Friday and on-call is required. Shift, weekend, and overtime as required.
