Division Description ITW Construction is a ~$2.0B segment that provides a variety of fastening systems and truss products for the commercial, residential, and remodeling/renovation segments. The segment includes products manufactured at locations around the globe serving markets in North America, Europe, Asia, New Zealand and Australia. Key brands include: Paslode, Buildex, SPIT, Ramset, Red Head, Alpine, and ITW Brands. The Global Tool Unit (GTU) is a part of ITW's Construction Segment. The GTU innovates, develops, and manufactures best-in-class Power Fastening Systems for the global construction market. Position Summary Contribute to the goals of the team by assembling high quality tools in a cost effective and safe manner, meet production targets and actively participate in improving plant practices and procedures. Primary Responsibilities Work Quality/Job Performance Maintains safe and neat work area(s) Ability to read and understand work instructions and safety guidelines. Follows safety procedures, i.e., exercise, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, etc. Brings unsafe conditions to the attention of management. Follows work instructions. Follows line procedures and timing. Follows parts ordering, cycle counts, and cleaning procedures at appropriate time. Team Member Effectiveness Participates with team. Safety Awareness - Being aware of conditions that affect employee safety. Job Requirements Minimum of 18 years old 1 year of related assembly experience preferred. Ability to read and understand work instructions and safety guidelines. Use and be familiar with assembly and measuring tools, interpret visual aids and be able to perform simple math. Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in written form effectively with co-workers, and other departments. The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing area where under certain conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel toe shoes, safety glasses with side shields and gloves. Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures. Industrial lighting provided. May shift from one station to another during the assembly process. The noise level in the work environment is usually normal/moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use both hands to assemble, carry boxes/bins, tools, and components; to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. Job rotation is variable for periods of 30 minutes up to 4 hours. Occasionally exposed to fumes, oils, and adhesives. Ability to operate air and hand tools and lift up to 35 lbs. Ability to sit and stand as needed or alternate positions. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. PPE required includes ANSI-related safety shoes, safety glasses, and some areas require hearing protection and gloves.
