Defense Litigation Associate (Toxic Tort)

We are seeking an associate with 3-5+ years of experience in chemical exposure and toxic tort cases. A Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school is required. Candidates must be admitted to the bar in both New York and New Jersey, or have the ability to waive into New Jersey. Joining our nationally recognized Mass Torts and Industry-Wide Litigation team. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across all our offices and local counsel nationwide, reflecting the extensive reach of our practice. What You'll Do: Research legal, medical, and scientific issues; collaborate with senior attorneys to devise related defense strategies Take and defend depositions Manage discovery and e-discovery Draft reports to clients, memoranda, pleadings, motions, briefs, etc. including significant and complex motion practice Participate in trial/ADR planning and preparation Represent clients at courtroom appearances What You'll Bring: 3-5+ years of chemical exposure/toxic tort case experience required Juris Doctorate from ABA-accredited law school NY and NJ admission (or ability to waive into NJ) required Strong deposition, motion, pleading and e-discovery experience required Familiarity with Zoom, MS Teams, and other video conferencing platforms to participate in depositions, court conferences, and meetings Must have ability to travel for in person depositions and court conferences, including overnight, as needed Excellent research skills, writing skills and verbal communication required Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced, team oriented environment Demonstrated high level organizational skills for prioritizing workload Demonstrated ability to absorb, process and understand, new information rapidly Must be able to manage competing priorities Maintains high standards of performance Exhibit conscientiousness, dedication, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility Must have a professional, cooperative, positive and flexible attitude Military experience welcome
