Loss Mitigation Analyst 1916 Black River Blvd, Rome, NY 13440 Starting pay rate: $23.97/hour to $33.34/hour, actual rate will depend on experience Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Who Are We? The Position: AmeriCU Credit Union is in search of a Loss Mitigation Analyst who aligns directly with our mission to provide our members with the right financial services to live life, dream big, and achieve financial success, and our vision to be the most admired organization in every community we serve. The Loss Mitigation Analyst will: Be responsible for reviewing and underwriting modification requests from current members. This role aims to mitigate risk in the Credit Union's portfolio by assessing the ability and intent of borrowers to continue their existing loans when experiencing financial hardship. The analyst will manage requests received on consumer, business, and real estate loans, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. What you will do: As a Loss Mitigation Analyst your primary responsibilities will include: Analyze borrower's financial situation to determine the ability and intent to continue existing obligations. Review and underwrite forbearance and modification requests for consumer, business, and real estate loans. Verify borrower documentation, including income, employment, and credit history, as needed. Review proposals from Credit Counseling Agencies, Collection Agencies and Legal teams for settlements of loan obligations within assigned authority. Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation of all modification activities. Communicate with internal team and borrowers to gather necessary information and explain modification decisions. Provide guidance and support to members throughout the modification process with empathy and understanding, along with financial education. Monitor existing forbearance and modification plans for continued signs of impairment. Review requests and recommendations from sub-servicer for Loss Mitigation and advanced collection requests. Ensure compliance with Credit Union policies and regulatory requirements under supervision. Identify and report potential risks to the Credit Solutions Leadership Team. Work collaboratively with other team members and departments to ensure smooth processing of modification requests. Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
