As a Compensation Director, you will play a crucial role in the administration and shaping our leadership's compensation strategy to align with our business goals and values. Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Compensation Director to oversee the design, implementation, and management of all compensation programs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of creating competitive executive compensation packages that attract and retain top talent while fostering a performance-driven culture. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in compensation analysis, job evaluations, creating job profiles, new hire and promotional compensation, recognition, short- and long-term incentive plans, retention, executive pay practices at a public company, and regulatory compliance. The position will directly manage 3 professionals. Key Responsibilities: Compensation Structure: Create and evaluate new and updated jobs; analyze job responsibilities and requirements and recommend internal grade and title. Compensation Strategy Development: Develop and execute compensation strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring competitiveness, equity, and compliance. Pay Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to benchmark compensation against industry standards and trends. Conduct competitive pay analysis and make recommendations for individuals or groups. Review offers; develop compensation packages for internal moves and external hires. Provide insights and recommendations based on data-driven insights and market trends. Plan Design and Implementation: Design and implement compensation plans, including base salary and executive pay, short-term and long-term incentives, and equity awards. Work with Computershare to manage the Long Term Incentive Plan. Enhance, design and refine compensation plans; lead plan design; develop and recommend plan options by modeling and analysis. Ensure all compensation plans are competitive and drive performance. Performance Management: Partner with HR and business leaders to align compensation programs with performance management frameworks and organizational goals for Hourly and Salaried employees. Compliance and Governance: Conduct audits and ensure compensation programs comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and corporate governance guidelines. Monitor changes in legislation and industry practices to recommend adjustments as necessary. Communication: Collaborate with the Director Total Reward and Sr. Leadership on compensation philosophy, strategy, and governance matters. Present recommendations and insights effectively to influence decision-making. Create and send employee communications regarding incentives, merit, market adjustments and promotions. Develop clear and concise communications to educate key stakeholders regarding our programs. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, JD) preferred. Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in executive and base pay compensation, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role. Expertise: In-depth knowledge of executive compensation principles, practices, and trends. Familiarity with tax and regulatory implications related to executive pay. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and trends to drive strategic decisions. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to senior executives and board members and a passion for customer service Strategic Thinker: Proven ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into effective compensation programs. Collaboration: Demonstrated success working collaboratively across functions and levels within an organization. Must Have: Executive compensation experience at a public company Advanced level Excel and PowerPoint Highly organized and able to constantly reprioritize work to meet tight deadlines Beneficial: Expertise with Computershare Workday experience Working for a public company headquartered in Canada and on the Canadian stock exchange Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation a plus Canadian compensation experience Automotive or Manufacturing experience at a company with 100's of locations across the USA Additional Information: If you are a strategic thinker with a passion for designing and implementing compensation programs that drive organizational success, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
