We are seeking qualified candidates for the Financial Reporting Manager position at our corporate facility located in Glen Allen, VA. This role will be responsible for managing the Company's SEC reporting obligations in a timely and accurate basis in accordance with US GAAP and all applicable laws, regulations and policies. The position also oversees accounting research and accounting policies related to new and proposed accounting standards as well as ensuring compliance with existing guidance and will support the Finance implications of potential acquisitions/partnerships. The Manager, Financial Reporting will assist with portions of the SOX program. This position is hybrid, on-site 3 days per week. Responsibilities of the position include: Manage the Company's SEC reporting process; including: Determining and requesting information needed for disclosure, coordination of drafting the 10-Q's and 10-K's and completion of disclosure checklists in a timely and accurate manner, and reviewing the XBRL tagging. Assisting with drafting and filing 8-K's, the proxy statement, the annual report and registration statements; Serve as internal expert for Workiva; Responsible for maintaining evidential support for all disclosures in the Company's SEC filings; Assist in the quarterly earnings release process including the preparation of earnings release financial tables and review/tie-out of press release and related financial data; Executes the quarterly collection of management rep letters and legal letters from subsidiary personnel; Assist in the preparation of responses to SEC comment letters; and Populate financial tables and review/tie-out investor presentation. Conduct research on various technical accounting issues in order to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP; compile, interpret and communicate findings (both verbally and in writing); and determine the appropriate accounting methodology and disclosure requirements. Work with the Controller and CFO to monitor and create implementation plans for newly issued accounting pronouncements; oversee affiliated company development of accounting policies and implementation plans with minimize the impact on business activities. Serve as Finance representative for acquisitions/joint ventures/partnerships to ensure appropriate accounting and reporting requirements are met. Manage the subsidiary statutory reporting process to ensure compliance with local laws. Review affiliated company annual financial statements for consistency and appropriate adoption of new accounting standards. Participate in quarterly and annual business reviews to facilitate an understanding of business issues, assist in drafting MD&A and identify potential accounting issues. Support the SOX compliance programs, including monitoring of compliance of subsidiaries and assist with occasional implementation, maintenance and review of internal controls over financial reporting. Design and operating effective controls within the financial reporting areas of responsibilities. If deficiencies in financial reporting are identified, confirm appropriate alternative controls are in place to ensure proper quarterly reporting. Remain current on accounting trends, techniques, policy and standard changes and SEC requirements through continuing professional education Requirements of the position include: 7+ years total work experience in financial reporting; combination of Big 4 Accounting experience and/or large public company experience B.S. Accounting Degree CPA required Specific technical expertise in existing and pending SEC accounting disclosure Supervisory experience MS Word, Excel proficiency Expert Knowledge of Workiva Excellent financial analysis skills Strong project management skills Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information Strong work ethic and commitment to achievement of team goals Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must demonstrate exemplary attention to detail Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects effectively Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to effectively supervise others Our employees enjoy working in a tobacco-free and drug-free environment.
