Job Summary: This position is responsible for the optical inspection and mechanical inspection documentation of precision optical components for the final assembly. Duties include incoming and final inspection. Will also be responsible for implementation of first article inspection with processing and collection of all needed documentation/certification of all products for final shipments per ISO requirements. Primary Responsibilities: Major include the following activities: Understanding surface Quality per MIL-/5,20/10,40/20,60/40,80/50. Ability to operate mechanical inspection equipment such as Caliper, drop gages, dial indicators, micrometer, Measuring Loop, Microscopes and CMM inspection equipment for in-process and final inspection of assembled components. Clean optical components for inspection and or final assembly requirements. Understand how to read optical and mechanical drawings for element inspection and final assembly requirements per drawing specifications. Be able to determine and follow the (MRB process for the manufacturing review bord to determine the disposition of the components. Requirements Skills English is the primary communication language. Excellent written and communication skills. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to plan and prioritize tasks and coordinate across departments when appropriate. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Proficient with being able to work with Microsoft Office and Excel. Education, experience, certifications High School diploma required. 2 years of experience in optical and or mechanical inspection of components. 1 to 3 years in a manufacturing/Assembly environment required. 1 to 2 years of optical manufacturing preferred. 1 year of Optical inspection of coated optics preferred. Able to work overtime if needed to complete end month shipment requirements for final shipments. Able to complete and understand basic mathematical requirements as needed and ability to document findings properly. Physical and mental demands Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk/work station and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities. This position is on site, no remote work option.
