ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Prepare US Sales/Use tax workpapers and file Sales/Use tax returns utilizing Vertex Returns platform. Prepare other indirect tax workpapers and filings, such as, property tax, unclaimed property, US Census, gross receipts, and business license. Process monthly tax payments (both ACH and mailing of paper checks). Perform general ledger reconciliations to ensure SOX compliance. Review customer resale/exemption certificates to ensure validity for order processing. Analyze purchases for tax exemption applicability and prepare resale/exemption certificates for management signature. Assist with indirect tax audits such as, data gathering, report analysis, and research. Resolve notices received from taxing jurisdictions. Ability to identify and raise issues to tax management to ensure that the company collects, accrues, and remits the appropriate tax. Ability to collaborate with other departments to gather information as required. Work heavily with Excel perform data analysis. Work on special projects as required. Qualifications REQUIRED: Bachelors degree in accounting or related field 1-3 years of relevant indirect tax experience Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred, but not required SKILLS: Organized and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize competing tasks, anticipate resource needs and meet deadlines. Ability to work with different ERP Systems to pull data and corroborate the data pulled from various ERP reports Very good knowledge of Excel and ability to work with large data files Ability to operate and succeed in an ever-changing environment with competing priorities. Operate effectively with varying degrees of supervision on a daily basis. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions. Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and relational skills
