Principal Responsibilities: The Shames JCC on the Hudson is a non-sectarian community center providing meaningful experiences for individuals and families throughout their lives. We are a welcoming, inclusive gathering place that enriches the greater community through social, recreational, educational, social action, supportive service, wellness, and cultural programs and resources guided by Jewish values. The Shames JCC Welcome Desk and Customer Experience staff support a positive environment for members, visitors, and colleagues. They are responsible for providing outstanding customer service, facilitating a warm, friendly, responsive community experience throughout the entire JCC. Community Experience Representative are responsible for providing outstanding customer service, helping to ensure the safety and well-being of all members and guests, and facilitating a warm and friendly community experience throughout the entire JCC. Essential functions include but are not limited to the following: Meet and greet members, their guests and visitors, and program participants and families, as they arrive Support the smooth operations of all welcome desk functions Manage guest inquiries, and escalate them to supervisor(s) and/or other teams, as necessary Participate in all required trainings Assist members with purchases of retail goods and/or services Keep the Welcome Desk clean, orderly and well-stocked with retail goods and promotional materials Assist with updating reference materials, such as safety guidelines and required logs and ledgers Support programs, and the cross-selling of programs whenever possible Provide an Exceptional Experience for our members and our community as per the Experience Initiative Guidelines. Adhere to the Code of Conduct Additional duties, as may be assigned by the supervisor Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience: A minimum of a high school diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience A strong customer service and sales orientation Additional Qualifications: A team player, with the ability and willingness to take management direction, and to interact with others in a friendly, engaging and professional manner A strong track record of consistently providing excellence in service, and quality of work Proficiency in using technology and/or office skills, as could be required on the job Experience working in high-performing, collaborative and constructive teams Current CPR, AED and First Aid certification is a plus Personal attributes of integrity and professionalism, as well as a commitment to and passion for customer service, and the JCC's mission. Salary: Under $25,000 Agency Information: The Shames Jewish Community Center on the Hudson has grown to be the center of Jewish community lifein the Westchester Rivertowns, providing educational, social, cultural, recreational, fitness and wellness programs for individuals of all ages, all faiths and all backgrounds. It is a warm and welcoming place to be. The Shames JCC is a 75,000 square foot facility on a 6.6 acre campus . Our current membership of almost 1800 families from throughout Westchester County enjoy our state of the art fitness and aquatics centers, a full court gymnasium, a varied scheduled of adult and children's activities,and an early childhood program that is second to none. Focusing on its mission to keep our members Moving, Learning and Connecting, the Shames is the placewhere adults can take over 100 free exercise classes, attend a lecture, workshop or special event and make lasting relationships. Youngsters come to our Early Childhood Center for their first learning experience. They participate in our after-school program, day camps, and a full range of enrichment classes, including music, sports, and crafts. Our special needs program offers services and activities for all ages. The JCC offers member and non-member programs and provides scholarship opportunities for those who cannot afford activity fees.
