Heartland Fleet Services is a leading provider of mobile preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs for light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in the Kansas City Metro area. We are looking for a Master Diesel Technician to add to our growing team of highly skilled mobile diesel technicians. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of $2500. Diesel Technicians are responsible for performing preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, advanced computer diagnostics, DOT inspections and any other services necessary to get a customer's vehicle back on the road. Services are performed mobile at the customer's location or at Heartland's shop in Independence, MO. Responsibilities: Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and DOT inspections Open and Close repair orders on company issued computer or tablet Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on service truck Diagnose/Repair/Replace components on customer vehicles and equipment Perform repairs and inspections on a variety of vehicles, trucks and equipment, such as brakes, engines, wiring etc. Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in a timely fashion Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on vehicles, along with DOT inspections Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most Standard Repair Times. Report to scheduled shift timely Respond to client requests as needed Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures Interact with clients by email, phone and text message as needed and in compliance with company policy Maintain general upkeep/maintenance of shop, service vehicles, and other equipment Perform other duties as required Requirements: 5 years of experience performing maintenance and repairs diesel vehicles/equipment Valid driver's license Good verbal and written communication skills Must provide own hand tools that are adequate to safely and effectively perform job functions Proficient computer skills/software navigation capabilities to document repairs, operate diagnostic tools, and use email Experience with customer/client interaction in a shop and/or mobile setting Good organizational skills, self-starter, and independent thinker Experience with light to heavy duty vehicles Must be able to operate a manual transmission for diagnostic purposes CDL a plus Welding experience a plus Any certifications a plus Benefits: Competitive weekly pay Sign-on bonus of $2500 ($1250 payable after 30 days of employment, $1250 payable after 90 days of employment) 7 paid holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and a floating holiday) Paid vacation Health insurance Company paid life insurance and long-term disability insurance Voluntary vision, dental and life insurance Service truck, gas card and uniforms provided Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 5 - 10 years Salary: $35 - $45 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
