Overview: This newly created role within the Supply Chain Planning organization will manage a team of dedicated to the purchasing of over 500 million pounds of paperboard and packaging components annually. Apart from managing the team, this role will be focused on strategic efforts to ensure the company operates at optimal inventory levels by employing Lean principles to prevent overstock and stock-out situations. This is a hybrid position with Tuesdays and Wednesdays worked out of our Lake Forest office. Responsibilities: Oversight and management of the day-to-day purchasing of paperboard and packaging components to support the company needs and maintain efficient operations Manage paper and packaging team's work to ensure inventory control procedures are followed and inventory control is maintained to achieve KPI targets Drive progress on strategic initiatives impacting paper and packaging purchasing and inventory control for all plants in the network Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and work with managers and directors on course-of-action development and implementation With the assistance of planners, effectively analyze, distill, and communicate actionable information from large and complex data sets containing purchase histories & forecasts, past and future usage quantities, and inventory movements for several thousand individual paperboard and packaging components Proactive identification of supply issues and development of corrective courses of action Track inventory DOH vs target for assigned categories and manage/delegate remedial actions for misses Developing paperboard inventory forecasts considering planned purchases, plant consumption and other factors Providing input (via an S&O) to Procurement on forecasted volumes, business changes, etc. to ensure they can strategically work with suppliers to support the company needs and minimize total cost Compile and present raw material procurement Tier 3 meetings and complete open action items Manage/delegate component changes, BOM updates, and runout plans Review and Manage SLOB Materials Maintain governance processes for plant MRP parameters to ensure efficient flow of paper and packaging materials Participate in vendor engagement efforts to ensure effective lines of communication remain open for escalation of issues Leading and collaborating with plants & procurements to achieve lean inventory and cost savings initiatives Collaborates primarily with Procurement, Operations, Manufacturing Planning and Distribution Planning. Qualifications: Qualifications: BA/BS from an accredited university (Supply Chain, Finance/Accounting, Management, Operations, Logistics, preferred) 5+ years of experience that includes aspects of supply planning, demand planning, scheduling, inventory control, procurement, manufacturing or logistics. Ability to effectively communicate at a strategic and tactical level through all levels of the organization. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate analytical findings into actionable solutions and processes. Demonstrates strong project management, planning, organization, and cross-functional skills, including ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Proficient with SAP, JDA/Blue Yonder & Tableau. Excellent with Excel and PowerPoint Pactiv Evergreen Inc.
