DUTIES: Coordinate and reconcile daily deposit; prepare miscellaneous receipts; process inmate payroll, which includes monitoring pay documents, reports and activity to ensure inmate workers are paid correctly; complete log for receiving/issuing pop tokens; process inmate travel orders; research confiscated appeals from inmates; serve as contact for inmate accounting and coordinator of inmate payroll; train supervisors to use inmate payroll software; answer Inmate Interview Requests; review electronic receipts; assist business manager as needed; review/approve all outgoing inmate institutional checks; review, code, and approve purchasing documents; facilitate American Correctional Association (ACA) file preparation for standards to assure accreditation. Requirements / Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training in administrative/office support functions, procedures, and methods including the operation of personal computers and office equipment; or areas related to the programs and functions of the employing agency OR experience in customer service or public contact; or applying criteria/regulations; and/or performing administrative/office/secretarial support work including use of personal computers and office equipment. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum two years' experience/training/education in administrative/office /clerical support functions. Experience with Microsoft Office applications. Other: Applicants accepting a job offer must pass a medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program. Knowledge, skills & abilities : Ability to: communicate in person and by phone, email, and correspondence to exchange information and ideas; interact effectively with persons of diverse backgrounds; summarize technical data and results of research and tracking activities into reports; prepare, proofread, and correct errors in information, documents, reports; understand and apply instructions and program administrative policies and directives; implement decisions made and take actions selected by others to achieve work objectives, performance goals, and priorities; learn the organizational structure, mission, and activities of the employing agency; learn agency policies and procedures pertinent to the work assigned; maintain confidentiality; maintain accurate records and documentation.
