Job Summary: The Support Services Floor Care Technician is responsible for maintaining floor surfaces at various assigned locations. Primary duties include operating commercial cleaning equipment, such as burnishers, buffers, automatic scrubbers, carpet extractors, truck mounted carpet cleaning machines, and both ride-on and walk-behind machines. The ideal candidate should also be able to maintain and perform minor repairs on equipment. Preferred Qualifications: ? Prior janitorial or floor care experience is preferred, though we are willing to train a candidate who aligns with our culture and values. ? Must hold a valid driver's license and pass a DMV check. ? Comfortable driving a company-issued vehicle from the Grand Rapids office to various locations, with potential travel up to an hour away. ? Ability to work independently or with a team, with flexibility for rotating weekend shifts. ? Full-time schedule (minimum 30 hours per week) with shifts starting at varying times depending on location and work ticket requests. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ? Follow instructions and complete assignments as directed. ? Safely operate all floor care and commercial cleaning equipment. ? Demonstrate knowledge of floor maintenance techniques for various surfaces, including carpet and hard surface flooring. ? Train others on proper equipment use and maintenance. ? Report all accidents, incidents, damages, or client concerns to the supervisor immediately. ? Act polite and professional at all times. ? Willingness to travel to multiple accounts as needed. ? Adhere to and follow all safety practices and procedures. ? Perform additional tasks as assigned by management. ? Promote a positive image of The Professional Group's culture and values. Position Requirements: ? Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred; relevant experience may be considered in place of educational requirements. ? Experience: Minimum of 1 year in janitorial services, with floor care training preferred. ? Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in English to ensure safety and operational efficiency. ? Licenses: Valid driver's license required. ? Background Check: Must pass a background check due to work in a federal building. Physical Demands: ? Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, and kneeling. ? Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. ? Capable of operating floor care machinery for extended periods. Wages and Benefits: ?
