Position Overview Are you a trusted and detail oriented finance professional looking for a new and unique challenge? Aardvark Studios, LLC is seeking a diligent and thorough Controller to support the preparation of financial statements that adhere to regulatory and accounting guidelines. You will play a crucial role in identifying and rectifying discrepancies while assisting in the establishment of effective control systems and audit processes. Your primary objective will be to ensure that the company's accounting and financial processes meet established standards, promoting accurate financial reporting and effective control. To excel in this role, you must possess a strong understanding of accounting principles. As an organized professional with keen attention to detail, you should be dependable and capable of working both independently and collaboratively. QUALIFICATIONS What makes you the ideal candidate 7+ years of experience as an accountant, assistant controller 3+ years of experience with job costing Degree in Accounting or Finance CPA preferred Excellent understanding of GAAP and relevant financial accounting regulations Excellent knowledge of accounting, finance and audit processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.) Understanding of data analysis and forecasting Strong computer skills and knowledge of accounting software programs Excellent verbal and written communication skills Highly organized and detail-oriented What else is required Proven experience in a leadership role building and documenting policies and procedures from scratch and managing junior team members Ability to learn new finance and accounting software at a rapid pace Ability to jump in and out of deliverables quickly and allocate work effectively Ability to create and own a month-end close process quickly in a new environment Career aspiration to progress one day into a CFO role Strong knowledge of the day-to-day minutiae of accounting work (billing, taxes, payroll.)
