Position Summary Our Amwins Access Underwriter Development Program is designed to guide participants through an intensive 2.5-year professional development program , where candidates will participate in technical and sales workshops, on the job training, mentoring, and attendance at industry events. The program is designed to accelerate candidates toward a career as a Production Underwriter at Amwins Access, where they will be responsible for building and maintaining a book of business through Sales and Underwriting. This position will be in person in our Boston, MA office with the occasional travel to our regional offices for additional training. Upon graduation of the 2.5 Year UDP program, duties of the Production Underwriter role will include: Successfully create and manage a profitable book of new and renewal business (heavily sales focused) Prospect for new business by developing relationships with retail agents through both traditional and creative marketing strategies Remain up to date with new insurance companies' offers and how to leverage them Prospect for new business markets and/or lines to write with sales techniques based in trust and relationship building Mentor and train new team members Program Assets: Professional development training Substantial interaction with Amwins Leadership Attendance at industry conferences, seminars, and carrier meetings Active mentorship and accelerated on job training Specializes in Commercial Lines What we are looking for: Higher education preferred Less than 3 years of insurance experience, preferred no prior underwriting experience Individuals who desire and can hit metrics throughout the entire training program within a sales environment Entrepreneurial spirit Located in the listed area Able to work in office Highly motivated Problem solver Benefits: Competitive starting rates with the potential for annual bonus and the ability to increase compensation based on your success as a coded producer Full benefits package available, benefits start first day of employment Generous Paid Time Off Collaborative, continuing education focused work environment We are committed to providing you the best tools: Access to a myriad of markets, including many that are exclusive to Access Industry relationships Cutting edge technology to help you deliver competitive small business solutions quickly and easily.
