Graciously greets guests upon arrival, escorts them to their table, provides menus and informs guests of their assigned server's name. Manages special seating requests consistent with table availability and other matters affecting sandwich makers, as appropriate. Responsible for accurately handling guest check payment and cash transactions as required. Major Responsibilities: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: - Treats all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strives to exceed our guests' expectations. - Demonstrates an understanding of menu, passing the menu test with a 75% or better, and accurately explains the menu to customers. - Checks table settings for proper presentation and completeness, and checks host station for adequacy of supplies used to refill or for replacement purposes. - Graciously greets guests within 20 seconds of their arrival and escorts them to a table, balancing the customer flow among service stations, taking into account requests for a particular table or server, depending upon availability. - Accurately utilizes the seating chart and knows table numbers and sections to ensure proper seating rotation and communication between servers. - Seats guests as appropriate and, once seated, provides guests with menus and informs them of their server's name. Supplies children with proper menu, appetizer and activity. - Facilitates the general functioning of the dining room during the meal service period, relaying information to service personnel, requesting feedback from guests as to their satisfaction, making adjustments when and where necessary. - Informs the Manager on Duty of service bottlenecks and works to keep dining room service fast and efficient. - Assists with the duties of servers such as securing food or beverage items for patrons or clearing, cleaning, sanitizing and resetting tables for reuse, etc., as the customer traffic flow allows. - Maintains cleanliness of the customer restroom and dining room floor throughout shift. - Accurately handles guest check payment and cash transactions, as required. - Interacts with guests within, and as they leave, the restaurant to ensure a positive dining experience. Handles customer complaints professionally and appropriately. - Assists with tasks throughout the restaurant, such as takeout or dishwashing, as needed or requested by the Manager on Duty. - Thanks all customers as they leave and invites them to return. - Assists trash removal (and recycling bins where appropriate) from restaurant and replace with new bags. - Responsible for assisting with daily and weekly cleaning and side work jobs throughout the restaurant. - Informs Manager on Duty of inventory supplies needed. - Actively participates in food and labor cost control. - Maintains professional appearance at all times, clean and well-groomed per Isaac's standards. - Abides by all policies, procedures and dress requirements established by Isaac's. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Education: Some high school. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the work location. Must be able to speak and understand the primary languages of the guests who typically visit the work location. Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations. Experience: No previous foodservice experience is needed, though it is helpful. Must possess good communication skills and be able to work with others. Must exhibit the ability to make decisions and solve problems rapidly and fairly. Must be sensitive to the needs of customers.
