Agri-Mark/Cabot Creamery has an immediate opening for a Production Manager in our Cut and Wrap Plant. He/she will be responsible for all aspects (safety, quality, cost, delivery, team) related to production operations by coaching, training and improving leadership skills of operations supervisors. In addition, he/she will analyze problems, formulate and implement improvement plans for production processes associated with safety, quality, cost, delivery and team skills in conjunction with the Plant Manager. Cross functional operations support will be given to internal customers (marketing, sales, procurement, scheduling, safety, quality, finance, distribution and human resources). ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Assuring safety of production team members and contributing to YOY process improvements to improve safety performance 2. Championing a CI mindset (Line boards, production output variances, labor utilization, quality defects, supplier defects, equipment downtime, process downtime, defective packaging, non-conforming cheese, schedule changes, etc.). 3. Conducting/participating with support functions in daily, weekly and monthly reviews of safety and quality performance, production run rates/efficiency, cost variances (packaging and finished good loss actual vs budget, trim/shrink/animal feed actual vs budget), and labor schedules. 4. Continuing CW Leadership Transformational Journey in conjunction with Plant Manager and HR Manager through utilization of Lencioni model (5 Dysfunctions of Teams); moving to a performance-based culture. 5. Developing Team Leads, Line Leads and supervisors to assure professional/personal growth so there is a strong succession plan within the production department. 6. Implementing, sustaining and improving the SQF traceability project. 7. Implementing and sustaining a robust cross training system to assure skilled labor is in place at the right time on the right line to meet customer demands and improve operations flexibility. 8. Coordinating line trials as scheduled. 9. Supporting overall long-term vision of the CW facility. 10. Monitor and update monthly KPI's 11. Participate in production meetings. 12. May need to provide cover for supervisors as needed. 13. Any other tasks assigned by the Plant Manager. STRATEGIC (35%) •Participate in the development and growth of the Agri-Mark business by performing key performance indicator evaluations and making recommendations where appropriate, while ensuring policies and procedures are up-to-date and relevant to current operations. •Promote and work towards continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing operation, developing a 3-year plan and responsibility to implement plans for the plant's future success. •Assist on special projects, as requested. •Assist in the Company's long-range vision. •Perform benchmarking on core products and processes, identify gaps, and provide financial / operational and strategic perspectives to site management. Assist in the development of action plans to close identified gaps. •Provide leadership to ensure development of people that will enable the Cabot C&W plant to further its position of being a leader within cheese packaging. •Work closely with maintenance to plan and execute needed work to be accomplished on all equipment in a timely manner. OPERATIONAL (35%) •Work cooperatively with the Plant Manager in the development and implementation of business processes, operating systems and continuous improvement programs for plant operations. •Provide direction and monitor the plant's safety program to ensure all plant personnel are in compliance with federal / state laws and guidelines, and also with Company policies and procedures. •Maintain programs and processes to ensure that Agri-Mark's products are being produced at the highest of quality standards, and to provide superior satisfaction to our customers. •Develop a productivity improvement program which ensures identified projects are in compliance with established guidelines. Constantly challenge site employees to consistently demonstrate continuous productivity improvements. •Provide continued leadership and guidance to assigned personnel for the purpose of increasing the plants' effectiveness and to establish good working relationships. •Ensure production schedules are established and achieved that will most effectively utilize our people/process and equipment. •Establish appropriate plant maintenance and sanitation programs. •Work with company-wide teams to improve the Cost, Quality, Delivery, Safety and Morale of the plant. •Maintain good working relationships with State, Local Government and community leaders, and maintain the Good Corporate Citizen image. •Provide input related to Key Employees that require further development, to improve the overall skill base for the plant. ADMINISTRATIVE (30%) •Lead, manage and develop the Cabot hourly and salaried team members. •Implement proper reports and controls and manage assigned operations in accordance with established policies and procedures. •Implement appropriate programs for communicating the status of operations with internal and external personnel. •Ensure that proper documentation and records are maintained in accordance to established Company and/or plant requirements. •Ensure all aspects of plant KPI's are being reviewed and communicated to plant teams for the purpose of demonstrating gaps and areas of opportunities. •Responsible for employee development to ensure defined business plans are communicated to all plant employees. •Ensure standards are set to meet GMPs, regulatory requirements, and Agri-Mark, Inc. / Cabot requirements. •Experience with managing, coaching and leading Management and Supervisory level positions. Education & Work Experience Requirements: •BA/BS degree in Business, Engineering, Food Science, or related field. •Familiarity with SQF, GMP's, HACCP, Quality and Sanitation policies. •At least five (5) years' experience with Food Manufacturing / Dairy Industry experience required. •Minimum 8 years' demonstrated leadership experience with progressive responsibilities preferably within a manufacturing facility. •Ability to work aggressively and effectively with plant personnel, as well as interact with different support functions, customers and Senior Management. •Understanding of capital management and budget management for a plant. •Strong organizational and communication skills. •Strong leadership skills. •Global Supply Chain experience preferred.
