Notabene is on a mission to make crypto a part of the everyday economy by building tools to reduce transaction risk and make crypto transfers safe. Working across three continents in eight countries, the Notabene team serves our fantastic community of 130+ customers, including financial institutions, fintechs, exchanges, and more. We're proud to have the support of leading investors, including Y Combinator, Jump Capital, Castle Island, Green Visor Capital, and more. We're at an exhilarating moment in our journey, as regulation technologies (reg-techs) are fast becoming recognized as a vital enabler of the crypto ecosystem. Notabene is growing-and we're building our team to help shape the future rails of the crypto industry! The Head of Finance will be a foundational finance hire to help scale Notabene through its next phase of growth. As our Head of Finance, you will lead our accounting and strategic finance functions, building out these teams over time while personally owning FP&A and supporting the company's fundraising efforts. You'll work cross-functionally with leaders from across the company, report to the COO, and empower our management team with data-driven insights that support strategic decision making. It will be critically important to step into this role with a bias toward action, identifying areas for improvements and implementing solutions to improve transparency and efficiency of our finance and operations processes. You'll act as both player and coach, with the energy and humility to roll up your sleeves and get things done, but with the maturity to manage a small but mighty team, hold them accountable for reaching ambitious goals, and help them build their own successful careers at Notabene. What you'll do: Lead Notabene's Finance function, ensuring excellence and operational efficiency across all processes. Create financial analyses for the COO/CEO, including: defining key metrics and performance indicators, reporting on and monitoring progress toward company goals, surfacing information to allow for confident and agile decision-making, and delivering presentation materials and driving discussions for board and leadership meetings. Work cross-functionally with the Go-To-Market, Customer Success, and Operations teams to solve complex business problems and drive strategic planning. Own day-to-day financial processes, including: accounting policies, month-end close, A/R and A/P, managing our cap table via Pulley, compliance/investor reporting, ensuring tax compliance through outsourced tax advisory providers across multiple regions and jurisdictions, etc. Oversee the company's data 'plumbing', streamlining the way data flows between Sales (the CRM), Legal (contract depository), Customer Success (billing system), Accounting (ERP) and the executive team (board presentations). Work with leadership on strategic projects designed to increase revenue and operational efficiency. Define what a Finance team at Notabene looks like, and partner with People Ops to hire, onboard, and manage the performance of future Finance team members. You're a good fit if you have: Extensive experience (6-10 years) in FP&A and finance, including 3+ years in an early stage (Series A to C) B2B software company. Experience and familiarity with Accounting. A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field. Passion for solving complex business problems, diving into data, driving process improvement, and leading change throughout an organization. Exceptional project management, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strategic thinking to anticipate downstream impacts of proposed decisions, understand and map edge cases, and engage the right people at the right time to reach the right conclusion. The ability to work onsite at our Brooklyn, NY headquarters alongside our COO. We *definitely* want to talk if you have: An MBA/CFA, or comparable advanced degree, in finance or accounting. Familiarity with or professional experience in the cryptocurrency industry. Experience with The Big 4 accounting firms, investment banking, or management consulting.
