What You Will Do: The primary function of the Events Host is to be present when the Girl Scouts Founder's Lodge is being used by community groups who are renting the facility. The goal for onsite support will include, but not be limited to welcoming the renter, providing an overview of meeting space, technology, restroom, common area and catering kitchen area. Leading up to and during the event the Host will help with technology set up and clean up, restock restrooms, ensure doors are locked and/or unlocked, and trouble shoot as necessary. How You Will Lead: Act as an onside event host during activity, including welcoming the rental group and ensuring they are set up and ready to go. Provide an overview of event space and related functions, such as IT set up and catering area. Welcome caterer if one is used and assist with set up. Additional support duties, including but not limited to processing mailings, coordinating large copy projects, and more. Be available for troubleshooting during events, including IT, catering area, restroom facilities, etc. Ensure rental group cleans up, trash is removed and has a positive exit experience. Post event: Remove garbage, Re-stock restroom supplies and secure facility. Resolve conflict as needed. Report any challenges during an event to property director and Director of Event Operations the following workday. Develops a depth of knowledge regarding the design of the Girl Scout Leadership. Experience and can easily articulate to any stakeholder the virtues of the organization. Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and amongst the membership. Must be available for on-call work, including some nights and weekends. Other duties as assigned to support the goals and objectives of GSCI. Requirements What We are Looking For: High school diploma and 18 years or older required, related experience in customer service is preferred. Must have experience and be physically able to perform a wide-range of maintenance trouble-shooting and janitorial duties. Strong customer service skills. Maintain a professional demeanor and relate to others in a professional manner and be ethically responsible for both the integrity and consequences of his or her own actions. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Become a member of the Girl Scouts of the USA. Maintain membership through the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana. Must successfully complete a criminal history background check. Physical Demands & Work Environment: Ability to stand on your feet for an extended period. Ability to lift to 40 pounds. Flexible work hours including evenings and weekends as required.
