The salary for this position is $73,425 to $107,690, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule. Key Responsibilities: The Senior Specialist - Airport Operations Safety Line Stations has responsibility to support safety oversight, programs, initiatives, and strategies to reduce and prevent injuries, damages, and incidents at the assigned Line Station Region(s). The senior specialist must possess a proven track record of operational knowledge, leadership skills, and people skills (ref. Leadership Model). The assistant manager must also possess general knowledge of Safety regulations, Safety Management Systems, Risk Management, Investigations, ATW and BTW procedures, as well as regulatory requirements to include FAA, OSHA, and local Safety requirements i.e. state, city. Must also be willing and able to travel up to 40% domestically. Acts as subject matter expert and assists with station investigations, root cause analysis for injuries, aircraft damages and issues of regulatory non-compliance Assists and leads risk analysis exercises for identified hazards, new and or modified safety policies and/or procedures Works with station Sr. Leadership to assist in implementing and managing proactive safety and compliance initiatives and to enforce standard operating procedures Develops and maintains Safety programs and initiatives Facilitates safety training to include OSHA 10, Accident / Incident Investigation, and Injury Management Interact with Business Partner safety leaders to address safety concerns, hazards, trends, and performance Works collaboratively with other stations and safety leadership to develop programs, review procedures Travel to stations within assigned portfolio to support safety program oversight, safety assurance, leadership calibrations, training, risk assessments, and the Safety Excellence Program United values diverse experiences, perspectives, and we encourage everyone who meets the minimum qualifications to apply. Qualifications What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience 4+ years of related experience Knowledge of airport operations, ground handling, or airport ground servicing procedures General knowledge of safety management, risk management, occupational injury management, or quality systems Ability to work independently to meet deadlines, prioritize high workload, and be available for occasional last-minute travel Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications): Bachelor's Degree Occupational safety, Environmental, Aviation Management, Systems Safety, Industrial Engineering, Human Factors, Quality Management, Business Management, Science or Technical related fields 6+ years of related experience OSHA 30-hour, OSHA Instructor 511/501, Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or higher, ASQ, or similar professional safety, quality, or environmental accreditation United Airlines is an equal opportunity employer.
