We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our Store Inventory team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical background in software engineering and should be able to translate business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs and to deliver code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions. As a Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing, configuring, or modifying integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions within various computing environments. This role facilitates the implementation and maintenance of business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications. Also focus on scalability, reliability, and security of our software solutions while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team. Key Responsibilities Translates business requirements and specifications into logical program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions with occasional guidance from senior colleagues; partners with Product Team to understand business needs and functional specifications Develops, configures, or modifies integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions within various computing environments by designing and coding component-based applications using various programming languages Tests application using TDD and BDD frameworks (e.g., jest, cypress, mockito, selenium, cucumber, etc.) Conducts root cause analysis of issues; reviews new and existing code Implements continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes to ensure quality and efficiency in the development cycle using tools such as Jenkins, Git, Gradle, Spinnaker, JFrog, etc. Ideates, builds, and publishes reusable libraries to improve productivity across teams Conducts the implementation and maintenance of complex business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications Solves difficult technical problems; solutions are testable, maintainable, and efficient Demonstrates strong understanding of at least 1 of the four competencies below with working knowledge of 1 other: • Fronted: Building UI using React and NodeJS with proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS • Middleware: Building resource efficient, scalable, and resilient Microservices and APIs using Java/Python/Go. • Databases: Building optimal database persistence solutions using right database technologies (ex, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, KAFKA etc) • DevOps: Creating automated CI-CD processes using containerization solutions (Docker), CI tools (Drone, Jenkins, Spinnaker), Orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm) and Infrastructure automation (ArgoCD, Rancher, Ansible, Terraform, Chef) What You'll Do: Build API and data streaming services using technologies and languages including but not limited to: Java, Spring Boot, Reactive Microservices using Spring Web Flux/Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Spring Cloud Data Flow. Deploy the applications to Lowe's hosted data centers or the cloud using technologies and languages including but not limited to: Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform. Build the service monitoring and business metrics dashboard using technologies and languages including but not limited to: Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana. Collaborate with business and product stakeholders and other engineering teams to deliver well-architected and well-documented software solutions. Designing scalable architecture that anticipates future requirements. Ensure code quality, infrastructure standards, and functionality meet the highest standards. Take ownership of production issues and lead recovery efforts. Provide support in identifying and addressing technical debt. Build Automated Testing and track and suggest Operation Excellence metrics and improvements within the team. Ensure the application can handle increased volumes and maintain performance metrics. Who You Are: A Software Engineer already familiar with the backend technologies listed above and you are eager and excited to learn and bring improvements to team. Demonstrated the ability to deliver quality, well-documented code. Able to design component level solutions, write medium to high complexity code and handle feature requirements independently with occasional guidance from senior engineers and mentor junior engineers within the team. Lead code reviews, best practices implementation, test case generation, automation testing for the services. Demonstrate software solutions to technical leaders and business/product stakeholders. Where You'll Be: Associates are required to relocate to the Charlotte region to foster collaboration and facilitate improved testing and support. Lowe's supports a Flex Office concept where in-person work is required two days per week at the Charlotte Tech Hub. Most business meetings are planned around the Eastern time zone. Required Qualifications: 2 years of IT hands-on experience in building enterprise software using Java in the space of Enterprise application. 2 years of expertise with Core Java, design patterns, and advanced data structures/algorithms. 2 years of relevant experience developing robust, highly available, high-performance distributed systems. 2 years of experience with Messaging/Event Streaming technologies such as Kafka/MQ. 2 years of experience in developing with Spring MVC framework, Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring reactive, Spring Data JPA. Good knowledge of Spring Security is required. 2 years of experience working with SQL/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc. 2 years of experience in creating, and executing automation test scripts, code review process. 2 years of experience with GCP, Azure, AWS or any other cloud technology. Strong understanding of software testing, infrastructure, operations, security, and performance. Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.
