Data Scientist I, Office of Inspector General Job ID: 240603 Location: DC - L'Enfant Plaza Full/Part Time: Full-Time Posting Open-Close 10/25/2024 - 11/15/2024 Union NRP Regular/Temporary: Regular Job Description Minimum Qualifications Minimum Education Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related field. Minimum Experience One (1) year of experience performing analysis of large datasets and investigations in support of criminal and/or administrative investigations. Preferred Qualifications N/A Medical Group Satisfactorily complete the medical examination for this position, if required. Summary The Data Scientist I is responsible for working with the Office of Inspector General's Audit and Investigations teams to choose the appropriate sampling plan, performing statistical analyses of data, data models, and preparing comprehensive reports. The Data Scientist I is also accountable for collecting and analyzing statistics and information from multiple sources to spot trends and to gain maximum insight that can identify vulnerabilities and the ability to communicate informed conclusions and recommendations across the Authority's leadership structure. Job Duties Principal Job Duties Collects, clean, and process datasets from multiple sources. Ensures data integrity and accuracy through validation and verification processes. Performs exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. Creates and maintain dashboards and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders. Utilizes programming languages like Pythion and R for data analysis and model development. Uses SQL for data querying and manipulation. Stays current with the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques in data science and data analytics querying and manipulation. Other Duties Maintains and promotes awareness and accountability with safety policies and procedures while performing job functions. Promotes a positive safety culture and encourages reporting of safety concerns consistent with our Agency Safety Plan, other regulatory requirements within the Safety Management System and just culture principles.
