Aeris is looking for a creative and highly motivated Solutions Engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit, strong technical skills and business acumen. The Senior Solutions Engineer is a key member of the Aeris connectivity solutions engineering team providing customers and sales representatives with in-depth product knowledge and industry expertise during customer engagements. The Solution Engineer will prepare presentations, demonstrate Aeris' capabilities and work closely with key prospective customers to assess technical requirements, prepare and articulate connectivity solution proposals. Duties: Drive specification inclusion and promotion of functional and system requirements for automotive telematics and telemetry solutions, through on-site meetings and workshops and web-based conferences with Automotive OEMs. Create program and solution documentation detailing vision, requirements, architecture, and design of the complex, large-scale systems that comprise the automotive OEM's program. Develop and implement processes to ensure that development meets functional and business requirements. Understand and communicate OEM expectations, issues and requirements to internal Aeris organizations, including product management, technical account management, engineering, and operations. Provide general technical and engineering expertise in support of Aeris sales efforts targeting automotive OEMs. Respond to RFPs, RFQs and RFIs. Conduct/participate in regular technical status meetings, participate in governance meetings and provide status information and identified risks up to management team (business and development). Position is based at Auburn Hills, MI and may be required to travel. Requirements: Bachelor's or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering plus 5 years of related work experience. 5 years work experience in technical sales and supporting high-end consultative technical solutions in the automotive industry. 5 years work experience of gathering customer automotive engineering and technical requirements for internal software teams for development. 5 years work experience working in software development disciplines i.e. Agile, SDLC using tools such as Atlassian's Confluence and Jira. 3 years work experience using graphical tools such as Visio, Gliffy, or SysML to illustrate business processes and system architecture. 3 years work experience of technical account management in a professional services organization. 2 years work experience in C++, Java, or Python.
