The qualified service electrician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems in commercial, residential, and public facilities. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems Conduct pre-job planning based on plans and specifications to determine tools and materials required Maintain a professional appearance and neat workspace while conducting service calls Accurately install wire, conduit, panel boards, fixtures, devices, prefab assemblies, boxes, and breakers according to job specifications and NEC Install electrical distribution and automation equipment: switchgear, transformers, PLC cabinets and VFD's Trouble shoot commercial and residential electrical issues Work independently with an electronic dispatch system utilizing iPad Proficient with circuitry of the trade to include power, control, and motor terminations Bend conduit by hand and with benders Performs excavation of dirt, rock, concrete, and other materials using hand tools or power equipment These duties and responsibilities are not all-inclusive and may change to meet the priorities and ongoing needs of the company. Qualifications and Requirements: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requires the ability to read and understand instructions, procedures, labels, and gauges Accurately perform basic math calculations to include addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals, multiplication, division, and the use of measurements Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and nonverbal) Requires self-motivation, organization, and prioritization management Proficient knowledge of OSHA standards and guidelines Technical degree, 3-5 years' experience, extensive mechanical ability, or a combination of education and/or experience Certifications or experience preferred in the following areas: Journeyman or Master Electrician Card/License OSHA certifications Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb; lifts and carry up to 60 lbs, crawl, kneel, push and reach; use hands to fingers, handle, and feel. Work Environment: In performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
